ATF opening huge cans of worms?

Nope, AR15 receivers are narrower internally than M16 receivers so that it takes more than just drilling a hole to convert them. The interior of the receiver has to be milled out.

Time to stock up on ammo?

Don't they teach civics in high school anymore? All tax bills must be originated in the House of Representatives. It is impossible to EO a tax on domestic goods.

Time to stock up on ammo?

I don't see anything being done by Executive Order. The last Executive Action turned out to be more of a wash.

Do you carry while hiking, rock climbing, etc?

I carry a 4" .44. Mountain lions are not protected out here and the hunting season is year round. I like .44 snake shot more than 38. I would not even think about carrying while technical climbing, especially on the sharp end.

.22LR ammo is now available, but where?

The President does not have the power to tax or institute tariffs, only Congress does. An Executive Order instituting tariffs would be grounds for impeachment and removal from office.

'What You Don't Know About Legal Machine Guns'.

That and most people in the know, estimate that only around 100,000 transferable machine guns are in private hands. The other 87,000 or so belong to museums and law enforcement agencies. I do not know what his 533,000 number signifies, but it is not transferable machine guns. It may be the...

    How Do You Use CLP?

CLP is for guns that like to run wet like ARs. It is not substantial enough for pistol rails, especially if you shoot competition. Slide glide or lithium grease is for rails.

Philosophy: Weapons Light vs. Rule 2

A light gives away your position. That's a good way to get shot. If you can get everyone in a safe place and strategically place the light on the other side of the room while you cover the door with your gun, you have a distinct tactical advantage over an armed intruder.

    256 Mag, should a would a could a.

Coues deer in Southern Arizona are not very big and I would have no reservations with the 256. The 256 Winchester Magnum is inadequate for Arizona mulies. The Kaibab Plateau has some real monsters. It would be more of a stunt than a hunt. Use enough gun, .243 minimum and .25-06 is perfect...

    ATF rule change on powder

Hmmm. Doesn't nitrocellulose normally have a nitrogen content of less than 12%? How many double based powders will this effect?

    Rolling the dice?

Readily convertible has been thoroughly addressed by Colt. There are rulings going back to 1964. Your 8 hour window was in reference to the ATF figuring out how a certain gentleman was able to get full auto with the parts in his rifle. It was not about declaring an entire class of firearms as...

    Rolling the dice?

Big stretch here. AR-15 receiver internal milling is fundamentally different (not just high shelf/low shelf) from M-16 receiver internal milling to avoid the readily convertible clause. You can't just drill a hole and put in an autosear. Conversion devices can be defeated by a high shelf...

New State Dept Admin Order affecting gunsmiths

There is absolutely no way this applies to people not operating a commercial ammunition loading business (Type 06 FFL). You are jumping to false conclusions.

Most of the time, they will postpone the interview until your head is clear and you can lawyer up.

NO. You will get hydrostatic shock as well. You just need to hit COM>

    Combat Shotguns: Dying?

A pistol caliber carbine is a poor choice over a shotgun. Pistol calibers are not man stoppers. Buckshot to the chest is pretty much lights out. Massive shock to the CNS.

    Combat Shotguns: Dying?

#1 buckshot is a good compromise. It may be the best overall.

Potential impact of Supreme Court shift

You have absolutely no understanding of Executive Orders at all. An EO is not a blank check. EOs are enforcement policies carrying the weight of law supported by existing law and executive powers. Obama was smart enough to know that he could not get an assault weapons ban to stand through...

Possible Response to Orlando & Calls to Ban Guns

I doubt it is linked to international terrorism. More like a crazy guy with a gun who hated gays.

    whats going on with 22lr

The margin on rimfire is razor thin and the equipment to produce it costs many times more (millions) than the equipment to produce centerfire. The manufacturers have already looked at profit/loss and made the decision to expand as much as they have been. Bottom line is they really don't make...
