Using a Trust for NFA purchases

Thank you. There are a couple that are recommended by some local NFA shooters down here, but there sure aren't many.

Using a Trust for NFA purchases

Thank you, Gents! I won't engrave; I'll be purchasing on a Form 4. I guess it's time to find a dealer and choose a suppressor. I'm thinkin' AAC Cyclone for M1A, AR-10 and Rem 700. Your advice is much appreciated.

Using a Trust for NFA purchases

Please correct or add advice where appropriate... I wanna buy a suppressor, and avoid the CLEO. (I'm legal; I've got an approved Florida and MS CCW. My CLEO has a reputation for reluctance.) I already have a revocable trust in force. I read all the links in post #2 here...

A gun shop episode that left a bad taste in my mouth...

If I had been present, even as a bystander, I wouldn't care what the shop owner had to say. He said enough. I wouldn't set foot in the store again. Some folks claim Saturno_V was "disrespectful"... of whom?? Obviously, the shop owner deserves no respect at all. Unbeknownst to everyone until...

Turning 21! First carry-1911! With a somewhat unique caveat.

DAAAyum. I'm glad I don't live in Kennedy country. Even the PRK ain't that bad compared to MA. I agree with JTQ, but I'd ad the SIG 1911 to the list. The only listed 4" is the S&W 1911 Compact ES . It may not be a bad choice--it's an external extractor gun. I'd look for a private sale of a CCO...

    1911 ccw quandry.

After reading the entire thread, I'm still not sure what motivates you to consider moving from 5" to 3"...If the motivation is to reduce weight, an alloy-framed 5" (or even a 4 1/4" Lwt Commander) would really reduce the burden. Extrapolated, a Lwt 3" would really carry well, but shooting it...

Cylinder & Slide Safety Fast Shooting System for pocket carry?

This would be a second carry gun, not a primary CCW. I wanna stay with the 1911 for the ergonomics and almost "common" magazine.

Cylinder & Slide Safety Fast Shooting System for pocket carry?

Dunno if I should be allowed to brainstorm or not... I was thinking about converting the hammer/safety system on a 3" 1911 clone by installing a Cylinder and Slide "Safety Fast Shooting System" so I could carry the midget in my pocket as a BUG. In order to streamline the hammer for pocket...

Which would you want for a sd gun?

+1 I'm not a fan of any of your three OEMs. I'd buy a backup 1911 now. If money's a problem then I'd go with your craving to purchase another revolver, but I'd make it a .38 Airweight.

Commander FTFs: last round loads in front of extractor

Thanks very much for your replies!

Commander FTFs: last round loads in front of extractor

I have a newly delivered Commander that fails to properly load the last round from several magazines. I've used the mags in two other Commanders without any problems, but in this Commander, the last round chambers 'completely' except that it loads in front of the extractor. I know this probably...

I removed the blue from my pistol. Good or Bad?

Llamas aren't highly-prized. In fact, they're not prized at all. Whatever money you put into it to get it back "into shape" is lost; I'd spend as little as possible--Brownell's spray 'n bake or Krylon. God forbid, I never thought I'd see myself recommending Krylon for a finish, but on a Llama...

"Dickering" on gun prices with sellers.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0HEW5bXqKbU I'm on a Looooooow budget... so I'll haggle every time; I may not get anywhere with it, but I almost always try. There's only been 3 times I can think of when I didn't--twice I was too afraid of losing the deal--$1800 for a Wilson Combat Classic...

Outrageously Great Deals on a Gun Purchase ... post your story!

Okay... I got a WWII Remington Rand for the price of two door hinges. I was working on my friend's parents' window when the neighbor said something like I wish you could do that at my house. I volunteered to, and she paid me with a 90% RR. Here's one to even out all those "I stole it from...

How to hang pistols on pegboard?

I'm too lazy for all that. I just use a shoe caddy--one of those "over the door" shoe organizers. I have 3 Desert Eagles hanging there among the 15 guns; there's a LOT of weight hanging there. I think I replaced the caddy after about 11 years. They're cheap enough and convenient enough so "more...

    Land to Shoot On...

No slam intended... the rationale quoted above wouldn't work where I live. The county laws state that there must be 300yd of clear land (no buildings, nor obvious signs of 'domestication'--tents, parking lots, etc.) in the direction of fire--the sheriff and I both interpreted that to mean that...

    Cleaning guns with waterless handcleaner

"...even in well-ventilated areas." What is it about Hoppes-like chemicals that bothers you? I assume you're getting headaches or other side effects from inhaling the fumes? If so, use the same mask you should be using spraying garden chemicals (malathion, Round-Up, etc.)--any OSHA-approved...

Anyone know of a good scope with .308 reticles for M1A.

Another scope mounting system that might be an acceptable cheaper alternative is the ARMS line. http://www.swfa.com/pc-2552-138-arms-18-m2114-scope-mount.aspx If you go to SWFA and backtrack two links from this page, the entire ARMS product menu will be displayed. Their mounts and rings...
