Yep, carry at least one at all times for the last 40+ years. I even carry a knife when I carry a pistol. I've even got a dress folder for Sunday and special occasions. It never needs reloaded and its quite.
I've used Sierra and Hornady to find the same results you have. The Nosler and Barnes that I've used are on the money. I just weigh the inconsistent bullets and load them in groups of matching weights. This seems to help in my groups.
I've loaded the serria 90 grain hp in my 270 win. I used H4895 @ 50.0 gr. It pushed it out at 3300 fps , the pressure was good and it had a nickle size group @ 100 yards. I didn't go up any because the group was ok and I only use it for varmits. I got the load data in the Lee book. Hope this helps.
I purchased a marlin 336 a few months ago, it's only had 15 rounds through it. Now when cycling the lever it locks up. I want to send it in for warranty. Has anyone used any of Marlin's warranty centers and if so which one does best work. Thanks for any help.
I load the 300wsm, I use only large magnum primers. That's from the 110 gr. varmit load to my 180 gr. hunting load, with very good results across the board.
I purchased one about 4 months ago. It was missing a piece on the rear sight. I got in contact with cs at marlin, they were very helpful. Had my part in a couple of days.
I use a 180 gr. hpbt in a remington 700 300 wsm, it groups 7/16 in. at 100 yards. It took a little work, but that's half the fun. I've found that the hp bullets do very good in everything I load them in.
Sure, 1.-- varget 31 gr. Start ,37 max,2.--H4198 24.2 gr. start 29.7 gr. max, 3.--H4895 30.0 start, 36.0 max. This is for 125 gr. fn bullet, in the 30-30
