    barricade practice

the VTAC barricade is probably one of the best training tools you can get for the money. 1 standard piece of plywood makes 2 barricades.....and your training possibilities are endless. they will quickly reveal any weaknesses in your shooting, as everyone practices shooting while standing...

Buying my first handgun - help needed!

if you have a steady and consistent supply of 9x18.......youd be a fool not to go for a makarov....especially at those prices. i had a makarov and loved it, the only reason i sold it was because the supply of 9x18 in my area was spotty at best.

    Barrel profiling - your experience?

Bead blasting is solely cosmetic, and has no bearing on the strength or any stress releaving of the barrel.

    AR 15 action jam

just an FYI, the half-moon recess is not necessary......it may also look like this as well just so long as the tube holds the pin in place, and the pin is able to move freely. i didnt even bother with the wrench to tighten mine, just used a brass punch to spin the nut enough to tighten it...

    AR 15 action jam

the retaining pin is held in place by the buffer tube, not the buffer its self.....the buffer tube should ride over the retaining pin like this: if you can remove the retaining pin without taking off the butstock....chances are the pin spring is being chopped by the bolt or the buffer

    Lanyard to steady pistol

essentially the same principal behind usiing a "Shoestring tripod" to steady your camera except instead of standing on the lanyard, you have it attached to your belt

    Lanyard to steady pistol

    1) there are pretty much no practical civilian applications where you are going to make a 50-100 yd shot....certainly none in a SD role.....because if you have time to setup and steady your shot.....chances are you dont really need to shoot. 2) if Military/ LEO need to make shots out to 100+...

at least my statement is more useful than you complaining.

    Lanyard to steady pistol

if you are making a shot where you need a lanyard to steady your pistol.......you should be using a rifle

    Too much recoil

sounds like you just need more practice.... .357 is not a terribly hard recoiling round.... i shoot 180 gr .357 out of my SP101 fairly regularly....its not terribly pleasant.....but hardly an unmanageable wrist breaker....and certainly nothing that would cause me to drop the gun....

    CC Stop

unless required by law, or the officer specifically asks....i do not inform the officer. if my firearm is not the issue for the stop, why bother bringing it up? ......im not breaking the law....and i dont benefit at all by informing him......

Is there a market for a MULTI-SHOT BP RIFLE?

hrmm....i think if i had the choice, i would opt for a double barrel rifle.....but instead of a side by side......i would make it an over/ under.......i think that would be pretty neat.

    Selling two guns at Cabelas.

adjusting for inflation......that $350 gun in 1970 would cost about $2,000 today.......so yeah, you got about 50% of what you paid for it. if you are selling guns to anyone who plans on reselling it (for profit) , you are not going to get a lot of money....

    Selling two guns at Cabelas.

take what you paid for them......and ask about 50%.......because thats about what you are going to get

    Why .45acp?

i think he meant worse from the standpoint of being shot......as in, 500ftlb is worse to be shot with than 200ftlb
  17. M

    Why .45acp?

for a 5 gr bb to have as much muzzle energy as a 44Mag.....it would have to be traveling at Mach 8 (~9,000fps) pretty sure at that speed ide rather be hit by the 44 mag.

now an interesting question.......at what point does the attacker( man who shot the woman), have a right to self defense?

Concealed carry gun-wielder intervenes in domestic dispute and is shot dead

are you really going to stand by and watch someone bleed out just because there is an off-chance they might sue you for helping them?

Concealed carry gun-wielder intervenes in domestic dispute and is shot dead

he should have called the police, gotten a plate number and administered first aid to the woman....no weapon needed CCW holders are not cops, we need to stop acting like it. let your macho pride take the hit.....if the bad guy wants to flee, let him flee......hell, the further away he gets from...
