Just read one of the posts and viewed the video of a person being harassed, threatened, and arrested by an unprofessional police officer. It went on for several minutes and the person receiving the treatment handled it well in my opinion. Do any of wonder if you'd be able to keep your cool in...
Many years ago I bought a Winchester Limited Edition 11 30/30. If I recall, it is supposed to have a 24kt gold plated receiver. I'm curious how much gold this would actually be, and if the rifle may be worth considerably more now. There were 1500 made.
Sorry if this has been asked before. I'm guessing it may depend on the State one is in at the time....but if a LE officer pulls a person over with concealed carry permit and gun in car what is the correct thing to do.
I was just watching a show on TV regarding State Troopers in Alaska. They...
Several years ago I inherited an Ithaca Model 37 12 gauge featherlite pump. If I recall, my Dad talked about having to limit the shells it would hold to 3 by way of a "plug" in the gun to conform with hunting laws.
Anyone know how to remove the plug?
Thanks
I have been shopping for a home defense shotgun, have found many styles and possibilities of course.
Occurred to me I have a perfectly good Ithaca 37 12 gauge featherlite pump sitting in my closet. It has a 28" barrel, ventilated rib, and a poly choke.
If I recall it will hold five shells...
I have a CCP.
I have purchased 7 handguns through the years at a local gun shop.
Several more rifles in the same State from gun dealers.
If push comes to shove, looks like someone will be knocking at my door since there must be records of what I have and that I have a CCP.
Saw a Bushmaster at the gun shop today and tag indicated it was a
"pre-ban shorty". Would it require any special licensing for that reason? Shop was very busy and didn't have time to wait and ask.
I really don't know beans about these types of rifles. Have always bought Winchester...
Well, it finally happened. I am turning 60, have 17 different rifles, handguns, and shotguns that I've accumulated and I can't enjoy shooting them because I am near sighted. I"m not ready for the rocking chair!!
Eye sight is nothing out of the ordinary, but I need to get some glasses that...
With my Wife and my encouragement her Sister just bought her first handgun, she chose a Ruger LCR in 38 Special.
She's about 100lbs, and although in good health otherwise, the recoil is more than she is comfortable with. She 59.
Is there a reduced power 38 special load on the market...
Have decided I have to buy one of these. One problem however is I'm 59, near sighted, and even with glasses have a problem focusing well on front and rear sight with traditional sights. ( hey I still do OK, but not like I want)
Anyway, don't know much about scopes. Want something simple...
We ccp's and will be driving home from Florida to the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri.
Over the years we have do so on many different routes, however the shortest one by far involves cutting across the very bottom tip of Illinois to get across the Mississippi to the boot heel of Missouri...
I have a concealed carry permit from Missouri, we spend Winters in Florida.
Last week we were sitting in chairs on the beach. Folks next do us were doing same and eating a snack they brought while watching the ocean. The wife threw a sea gull and piece of bread, then immediately stopped...
My Father gave me a Browning Auto 5 made in Belgium and the serial # is OM-06178.
Curious how old it is, and possible value. Not being an expert by any means...I'd imagine its about 85% condition cosmetically, but always taken care of inside.
Thanks to all, Steve
Bought wife ruger lcp to complement her Glock 26. Also bought her a handbag specially made to conceal the lcp.
There are times however she would like not to use the purse carry.
She doesn't want to have to wear a belt.
Would prefer to have it just clip on to the waist band of her pants...
Is it OK to dry fire a Ruger LCP? Wife wanted one, ( she now had Glock 26 and thought it was too heavy for her purse), bought it and now she can't get used to l-0-n-g pull of the trigger. I tend to agree with her.
Thought if she could dry fire it numerous times between trips to range it...
Will be leaving soon from our home in the midwest to spend 5-6 months in Florida through the Winter.
I have several guns that will be left behind in our house. We will leave the heat on about 62 degrees.
Anything special recommended as far as possibility of rust etc.?
Thank-you
Have a Glock 26, but at least to me it's not that easy to conceal carry. Kind of block shaped, square etc. I will be carrying it in Florida, walking on the beach, riding a bike many miles, light clothes etc etc.
I almost bought a Smith and Wesson 642, then I read that it is not easy to...
Going turkey hunting tomorrow. Taking 4's in my shotgun, but had a thought....would it be good to have a load a person could buy with 2's and 4's mixed in the same load? Seems to be it would have some advantages.
What do you think, bad idea??
Read this book twice.
I think nearly everyone could benefit from the information. Alot, alot. of ..good stuff about gun culture in our Country, some amazing facts and history, some amazing guns and stories.
Its part fact, part fiction but it does make a person think in a very...
