We had a few days of hay cutting over the weekend, and the guys shot 2 yotes while raking and turning.. Same thing- looking for rabbits and others while willing to get just a little closer to the machinery. Normally, they would leave the coyotes alone, but in the past few weeks we've been...
Art Eatman: " Please discuss the data, the numbers, etc. We don't need political philosophy or politics."
I thought the whole thread was under GUN POLITICS??
The NRA annual membership of $35.00 is reasonable for what they provide.. It's the constant asking for more money that annoys me...
The gun I was going to take is a .44 mag 4 inch. Through another site, based on motorcycle adventure touring has led me to believe that it is going to be easier to bring a rifle instead.
I'm just trying to figure out if it would be worth the hassle now.
You guys in Canada have some very...
I've tried talking to some gov't folks, all you seem to get is a "yes" followed immediately by a "no".. then they flip around again and leave you with more questions..
I'm just looking for a nice, clear-cut example.
I'm starting to get a trip to the arctic circle planned for next June, and was planning on taking a bear gun with me just in case.
I don't want to get into "which gun".. I already have the gun.
My question is:
Has anyone transported a handgun thru Canada? I hear it's very hard to do, but...
There is no reason why you can't carry it.. The only real concern is that if you (like me) carry it cocked and locked, there is a possibility that it might discharge if dropped.
Besides that, it has been a fantastic gun to carry. I use a clipdraw, inside the waisband and find it comfortable...
I traded off an amazingly accurate SKS because I no longer shot it as often as I wished. I live out in the country where I could shoot it every day if I wanted. I traded it for a couple of other revolvers and shoot them more often.
I've been more into .22 shooting more than any other, though...
Ratshooter: "Around here the common truck guns have been 30-30s, 22s and shotguns. You don't see guns in rear windows of pickups much anymore. Maybe a few in far west Texas. Now that you can legaly carry a handgun in your vehicle l suspect ther are a lot of pistols and and revolvers tucked away...
I don't see it as a replacement for the J frame at all, just an addition to the product line... I'm with you and your 442. I've been carrying my 442 since 1993, and that one replaced a model 37. I think I'll give S&W a couple of years to clean up the trigger...
I got to handle one a couple of days ago also.. I really liked the new cylinder release and agree with you about the laser sight. The grip was a little thin for my liking, but I'm sure that's only $20.00 worth of Hogue to fix.... Great gun!! I know I shouldn't, but I know I'll add one soon....

It is only purported to be a felony during an enforcement-related stop. I'd also like to see the actual statute pointing this out, not a paraphrasing by the state attorney general.
seriously? Do you REALLY think it's a good idea to play show-and-tell with a LEO...
Minor correction
Quote:
It's a felony to touch your gun while in the presence of a Police Officer. Plain and simple, cut and dried.
I don't believe that.
Well, You are wrong.
It has been ammended since I took my course, but it IS a felony in Ohio to touch or handle a firearm while in...
Trick?
It's a felony to touch your gun while in the presence of a Police Officer. Plain and simple, cut and dried.
If the LEO wants to see it, he must remove the weapon, not you. If he wants to see it in the parking lot of a 7-11, that's highly inappropriate.
KEEP IT! They're really nice guns, not something to carry every day, due to the fact that parts are getting hard to find.. They perform well, they shoot straight and there IS a little tip of the hat to John Browning.. Many do have minor design variations due to parts shortages, special needs...
I would
question his handgun knowledge. And then question it again. That is a very bad thing to do. He needs to educate himself before he gets hurt and hurts someone around him.
Why don't you get something you can use for SD and have fun with... Like a SAA Colt copy, a nice .357 revolver, a .44 Mag revolver? Fun guns to shoot, the .357 is one hell of a SD round, and the .45 Colt is a blast!!
Just bought one...
LOVE IT!! such a cool gun! Actually, I found a couple hundred bucks in the couch cushions on Saturday, and had a completely different gun in mind.. Then I was dumb enough to say "Whatcha got in lever actions?" and he pulled that one out of the "just traded" pile... Had to...
"Belt Clip for a M1911 would be nice...ditto for a Model 10 S&W Revolver."
clipdraw.com
Both are in stock, ready to ship. I also use the "universal" for other guns, as well as my cellphone.
