Should a American Citizen With No Disabilities Be Able to Board a Train, Bus or Subway With a Firearm?

Freedom is dangerous. It enables people to do stupid things with less fear of official pushback.

Should a American Citizen With No Disabilities Be Able to Board a Train, Bus or Subway With a Firearm?

Perhaps a more accurate word to use would have been "disqualifications".

    Chicago Sues Glock

See, I'm generally opposed to punishments being based on the tools that are used, rather than the action committed. If person A murders person B with a full auto Glock and person C murders person D with a hammer, the punishment for A and C shouldn't be any different.

Looking for a Handgun for Work

Don't carry a gun, especially for a job, till you've got some good, professional training under your belt. Ideally, take a basic handgun class before you buy one. It'll give you a better idea what you should be looking for. Am I understanding correctly that this security company is employing...

Questions on shipping handguns and a suppressor

Never said it would cause "issues". I said it might be interesting. Whether or not it's "threatening" depends on the person. There are people out there with some wildly irrational fears about stuff like that. Heck, as you well know, there are even plenty of folks on gun forums who have very...

Questions on shipping handguns and a suppressor

Have you actually done that though? I'm just curious about the experience. The lady at the counter asking if my Glock was a .38 wasn't asking in an official capacity. She was just curious and clearly didn't know anything about firearms, even though she had just asked for me to open the case and...

Questions on shipping handguns and a suppressor

I knew the part about the definition. Just wasn't sure how it worked with TSA or the folks at the check in counter. I've encountered check in people who asked if my Glock pistol was a .38. I'd imagine a silencer could make for some interesting conversations with them. Have you checked silencers...

Are Sights Really Necessary on a Concealed Carry Pistol?

If "long range" (not sure what that means, exactly) defense is necessary and you aren't capable of using your weapon at whatever that range is, you won't need to worry about criminal prosecution. Yes you do. The sights are still in line with the target, even if your eye isn't in line with the...

    Condition 1 or Condition 2

It can be. I've used holster edges, belts, boot heels, various parts of vehicles, door frames and a wide variety of other hard objects to rack slides. They can work, but man they all sure are a hell of a lot slower than bringing the gun up and pulling the trigger.

Questions on shipping handguns and a suppressor

So, when checking one, do you declare it the same way as a firearm, or does TSA consider it a firearm part? Or do we not really know for sure?

    Condition 1 or Condition 2

100% agree. It's amazing (and kinda sad) how many folks one encounters who have never even fired their handgun with their support hand, let alone tried to draw it, reload it, or manipulate it in any way.

Questions on shipping handguns and a suppressor

I don't have personal experience flying with a silencer, but I do know that it can be done. I would think that they would fall under the category of firearm parts. https://www.tsa.gov/travel/security-screening/whatcanibring/items/parts-guns-and-firearms You could contact TSA and ask, although...

Are Sights Really Necessary on a Concealed Carry Pistol?

What is his average time from starting the draw to first shot on target? I've been fortunate enough to train under several men whose time is well under 1 second. All of them would consider your armorer friend's claim to be ridiculous.

    Condition 1 or Condition 2

Might be interesting I suppose but that drill doesn't really have much bearing on the topic. A one handed draw to first shot time would be more relevant, especially if it was with your support hand.

    Condition 1 or Condition 2

While you're there, you should do some one handed drills, with both primary and support hand and let us know how it goes.

    What constitutes “brandishing”

Here are a couple dozen threads on the subject for you to peruse. https://www.thehighroad.org/index.php?search/640673/&page=2&q=Brandishing&c[title_only]=1&o=relevance

    Condition 1 or Condition 2

Yes. If you need to use this sentence regarding your carry pistol, you absolutely should not be carrying that pistol. If you can get an ambi safety, great. Until then, and until you've been able to train to competence with it, don't carry that pistol.
