A friend is considering starting to reload. He wants to do it inside his house in FL where it will always be airconditioned. I wonder about static electricity in the dry environment. Perhaps I am over thinking this because even inside static sparks are rare but it is hard to be too safe...

I shot a lot of cheap wadcutter reloads from my S&W K38 and they left lead residue on the cylinder face. Any suggestions how to remove the lead without ruining the bluing??

since you want a mid range autoloader the 380 or 9mm are decent choices. some bang but an easily controllable caliber and the double stack magazines on some make for a full grip even for a smaller hand. Another choice with real accuracy for gaining skill is the 38 spl such as the old S&W k38...

in the real world where someone may not use a gun for months or years then suddenly need it at 2AM only the revolver fits the bill, especially an early one without any safety to remember the on off direction.
