    Beretta 92X -- I need one

It ticks every box, except I would be tempted to dremel the shi* out of the tang and sweep it upwards. :0

    Any love for S&W Autos?

Nice custom SNK and SKX!!! ;)

    Speaking of beautiful 1911 work

Those Rogers Precision pics were THE pics that first piqued my interest in the 1911, eventually resulting in me getting a Colt 1991 2011 Anniversary Edition ;)

Does your non beavertail 1911 "bite" you?

My first mag hurt, and by the second mag, blood was flowing. Strangely, Rowel hammers on Hi Powers do the same thing, whereas the spur hammer doesn't touch me at all.

    Range Report: Taurus G2C 9mm

I have always admired their designs, and they have felt especially good in the hand. But I have read WAY too many horror stories about them to ever actually buy one.

    Got my first Hi-Power

With all due respect, before you settle on that position, you should find someone who has removed the mag safety. Mine had the most awful, knashy, gritty trigger imaginable...until I removed the mag safety. Now it is one of my best triggers. Don't deprive yourself of this without checking it...

The Germans' late 30's/WW2 view of .32 Auto/7,65 mm?

One of the most influential sources of our time was told that 7.65mm has a delivery like a brick through a plate glass window. ;)

    Beretta 92fs from PSA

I agree with Rubber_Duck - everyone should have one. The plastic COATED parts are easily replaced if they bother you enough. I assumed my plastic guide rod would bother me, but it never bothered me enough to replace it (or notice for that matter). Get the D-spring upgrade - the best $12 you...

    Skateboard Tape For Grips

Actually this is the stuff: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004JF2FVO. Looks to be ~$10 now, but this is effectively a lifetime supply for me, as I have it on about a dozen pistols and still have a lot left. Best cheap gun mod ever.

    Skateboard Tape For Grips

If you radius the corners of the tape a bit, it will last even longer - i.e., you don't want any 90 degree angles to get peeled up. Even better, I have been able to tuck the edges underneath most grip panels, which helps even more.

    Skateboard Tape For Grips

I prefer rubber stair step tread. It is cheap ($5 a roll?), is durable, easy to cut to shape, and is very grippy. If you radius any squared corners, and/or tuck it under grips, it will stay even longer. I think it even looks pretty cool. In contrast, I don't like sandpaper-type grip...

    M9: Commercial vs Military?

Once upon a time, I went to the gunstore to buy an M9 because I liked the non-radiused backstrap and the straight dustcover. I ended up walking out with a 92FS...because I realized the subtle radius on the backstrap made a much better grip for me, and because I realized I liked the subtle slant...

    Pocket Auto in 5.7x28mm?

Wouldn't a short barrel get you like a two foot fireball muzzle blast? (FN5.7 already known for loud report and big fireball)

    9mm Mak

First of all, I agree that there are way too many modern alternatives, so that the CZ82 isn't really a legitimate carry choice nor is it worthy of expensive customization. But as a purely academic exercise, the pistol could be thin. Its grips are thick, but needlessly so. I had a pair of slim...

    Beretta M9 or 92FS?

I agree with JTQ: the radiused backstrap on the 92FS makes a big difference. I ordered an M9 at a store a few years back even though they had a 92 in the display case. Had to wait a long 4 weeks for it to come in. But when it came in and I went to pick it up, I happened to compare it to...

    beretta mag extention

Standard 92FS extensions should work - the only difference in mags is where the mag release notch is cut. I want to say the baseplates are actually the same.

Compare CZ-82 OWB with the thinner Mak.?

Ahh, the classic High Road solution to the pistol selection problem. ;) Well played, Sir. Enjoy!

Compare CZ-82 OWB with the thinner Mak.?

I agree with all of Leadcounsel's points. I have the '82 and a Bulgy. While both exceedingly cool pistols in their own way, there have GOT to be better choices for CC in 2015. The problem with the '82 is more about its weight than its thickness to me. But it does have a relatively wide grip...

Pros and cons of the Stoeger Cougar Compact 9mm

Glad to hear it worked out for you. As much as I respect the Cougar, given your priorities, I think you made the right choice.
