how did it start for you?

We could use more people like that in those positions of influence today. Ahhh, the good ole days.

Is everyone still loving their Ruger Wranglers?

I have 2 Wranglers. One is from early on in production and shoots quite well. The other is newer production and shoots like crap. Haven't seen any of the keyholes that plague some of them, but 4-6 inch groups at 10 yds is pretty standard for this one. I haven't gotten around to checking it for...

    1851 colt navy chamberings

Try scrolling down a bit further in the main menu. There are lots of very knowledgeable folks that hang out in the Black Powder sub forum. Many of them are here also, but some of those charcoal burners don't frequent the plain ole revolver sub.

Identity and Date of Manufacture of S&W Revolvers

Looks like 1997. According to the SCSW 4th edition. Very cool gun IMHO. Very high on my bucket list.

I just picked up a Smith and Wesson 357 cant find model number looking for any information

This has happened to me several times. I've had to ask the dealer to redo paperwork more than once. Also have an M&P 38 with mismatched SN between the frame and barrel flat above the ejector rod due to having a barrel replacement. Frame SN is the legal SN if there is a discrepancy AFAIK.

    Trigger Job on Minty 19-3

You and me both! I wouldn't let anyone near my 19-3 with tools. She's perfect exactly the way she left the factory. I'm wondering if the OPs gun might just need some old dried out lube cleaned out of the action and fresh lube applied?

    Revolvers, fewer is more

As much as I can appreciate the spirit of the OP, and even after my earlier post in this thread, I have failed. After agreeing that less is more, and confessing that I have been selling some of my accumulation, I have fallen off the wagon. First, I stopped by one of my favorite LGS to pick up...

New conundrum- to fix or not to fix...

If it looks like it hasn't been fired much, try cleaning out the action first, I mean any crud left over from the machining process. Then dry fire it about 500 times. Then clean the action out again, and another 500 dry fires. That's where I'd start before spending money on a trigger job. It may...

    Turnbull S&W M15-8

Not my cup of tea for a DA revolver, but I can certainly appreciate how others may like it. It's pretty, just not my taste. But then again it is a Model 15, which makes it a thing of beauty already. I guess I do like it!

A quick workshop job this morning

At least it wasn't a high powered powder burner. 11 bullets from his 300 mag wouldn't have ended so well!

Thanks, that link was very informative. I even spent some time reading through the rest of the site too. Lots of info. Thanks again!

New to me Colt in the stable.

SN is 24xxx. How can I tell if it's factory nickel on a Colt? The finish on this one is satiny but where it was rubbing on a holster is very shiny.

New to me Colt in the stable.

I stopped by my favorite LGS yesterday to see if they had anything that I couldn't live without. Turns out that they did. It's a 1960 Colt model 3-5-7, from what I can tell through my research. SN is 24xxx. Tag said it was a Trooper but it doesn't say that on the gun, Just says Colt 357. Anyway...

    Revolvers, fewer is more

This is pretty much where I found myself recently. And actually just sold a Bersa last week. I'll be keeping my Smiths and Rugers and Colts though.

I really like my Girsan. If it remains as reliable as it has been to this point, it will be on my list of favorites.

.22lr revolver - how challenging to keep clean?

I'm personally not one of those OCD gun cleaners, so I don't usually clean them after every single use. Cleaning my rimfire revolvers isn't any more labor intensive than the bigger bores, though they do get dirty quicker. I wouldn't let cleaning requirements stop you from the enjoyment of a good...

I shot my 624 and my first had loads of 38 special

Very cool. I really enjoy hand loading. I can't remember the last factory ammo I bought for any of my revolvers. Or 45 ACP. I just made up my first batch of 32 ACP hand loads this evening. Very satisfying.
