Thanks I will definately keep those ranges in mind for next time we are planing a family outing but I would imagine both of them having an under "18 must be acompanied by an adult" policy because they are privately owned locations. But they will definitely be on the top of the family day...

0900 is a little early for me figuring that I am at-least an hour and a half out and I am far too lazy to get up before and moving before 8. I should be alright I know my way around a firearm better than most adults I know and I am the type to stay away from the crowd if at all possible.

Thanks for the heads up! I will definitely have a "battle buddy" to watch that nothing of ours grows legs. Just out of curiosity on average how crowded is it around noontime on a weekday?

Thanks MedWheeler. You can rest assured the last thing I would want to do is get lippy around a LEO. I do have quite a bit of respect for them especially after one caught the little delinquents that tore up my families business simply by seeing a lanyard hanging out of one of the kids pockets...

Hey everyone I have a question that I am hoping some of you guys living in the sunshine state could help answer. I was planing a trip to the public Range in Ocala tomorrow with two friends one 17 and one 18.The older found out that he could not join us, so it would just be me(17) and my...

    AR trade value?

I live about 25 miles north of Orlando near mount Dora. I know there are a few gun clubs around but I just don't have the time to join one. A friend was telling me about the Ocala public range and he said it was nice until too many people started to show up and stupid things started to happen...

    AR trade value?

Thanks, I am thinking I may just hang on to it. It is quite comforting knowing you have that kind of firepower if you ever needed it. Plus with the nasty storms we just had there is plenty of work lined up for me. It's kind of funny because I originally planned to buy the Px4 until the AR bug...

    Parts For Dads Old Python?

My dads birthday is coming up and he has an old colt python that he loves. He has had the gun way longer than he has had me and he has put quite a few thousand rounds through it. Now it has a problem indexing the cylinder because the ratchet is so worn down from use.I want to get the gun fixed...

    How about this upper?

Now I see that that spike's has this same receiver/rail setup, but it has a carbine length gas system with a low profile gas block instead of the mid length with the front sight. I like the carbine setup better as I want to mount some glass and flip up irons. I have heard that the mid length...

    How about this upper?

Thanks to all the help I received on my last thread, I'm half way to my first AR. Thanks again guys! Surprisingly I was able to throw it all together in about 15 minutes without a problem (I'll attach some pics). So here is what I'm thinking for an upper...

    AR-15 first-timer

I was thinking just a regular 16" A-2, but then I saw this http://www.spikestactical.com/z/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=63_134&products_id=449.Does anyone have any experience with this particular upper or anything similar? Judging by the quality machining and finish of the lower I...

    AR-15 first-timer

Thanks for all the info. I ordered my dpms stock and lower parts kit from midway. I also went down to shoot straight and bought a spikes tactical lower receiver for $99.00.I'm still looking at uppers but I'm definitely going to get one that's already assembled. I'm might be able to get a used...

    AR-15 first-timer

I've always played around with the idea of getting an an AR-15 ,but by the time I had enough $$$, something else would come up.:( Now I've done a bit of research and decided to go ahead and build it myself. I am probably going to pick up a dpms lower at the local shop and then order a lower...

    Beretta px4?

Ok, I know its an odd comparison but how would you compare the muzzle jump/recoil on the px4 in 45 to a 4in colt python with 357s? The reason I ask is that is that that's about all I shoot at the range, aside from my Beretta u22. Just want something to base my choice in caliber on as I am new...

    Beretta px4?

I was down at shoot straight yesterday and checked it out it felt surprisingly light an very solid. It seemed to have little to no wiggle on the slide. I also noticed the grip feels very nice in my hand and I have large hands. It was marked $700 but the guy at the shop took it down to $579 with...

    Beretta px4?

First off thanks for the replies. I have looked at the .40 and 9mm models, but i was a bit concerned about the plastic feed ramp on the 9mm. Also I have heard that .40 can be a bit more snappy on the recoil than .45 plus I only shoot only shoot 2 or 3 times a month and i like the proven power of...

    Beretta px4?

I am planning on buying a new Beretta px4 chambered in .45acp within the next few days. I went down to the gun shop today and I really liked the way it felt. I was also surprised at how light it was.I am just curious as to what other people think of this gun. Also I was wondering what the recoil...
