    XD striker (firing pin) question

After looking at the firing pin's consturuction, it does seem like it would be rather difficult to break the safety. I would imagine that during product evaluation and design the engineers would have hopefully thought of this potential weakness and tested the firing pin for this potential...

    XD striker (firing pin) question

Wow. Great pictures and info. Thanks. I guess I personally find this a little discouraging about the XD's design. I love the ergonomics and the way it shoots. But if the firing pin safety part should break.... Does this cause anyone else to worry, or am I being irrational here...

    XD striker (firing pin) question

After reading a recent post regarding the Springfield XD, I read that the firing pin is under constant tension. Is this a good thing or bad thing? The comments seemed negative and I was wondering if someone could please explain. Could this lead to an AD? I know that the Glock is a striker...

    which 9mm to choose: CZ-75B or Sig-226 ?

Wow!! Tough choice. If price is the primary concern, get the CZ-75b. If money is no object, get 2 CZ's ;) !!!! Seriously, if price isn't a major factor, get whichever one feels better and shoots better for you. I'd definitely try before you buy if you can. Cz cons: The Factory springs can...

    CZ Poll

I'd have to say 2 as well. I don't think a "magic sword" exists (but the P-01 is close!! :D ). If there was a perfect gun, we'd all own it and wouldn't need this forum.

    Compact, all-steel CZ w/ decocker...Does it exist?

The CZ P-01 is one tough pistol, as many will attest to here. Check it out: http://www.cz-usa.com/media_releases.php?m=4&msgid=37 When comparing the P-01's aluminum frame to my father's Sig 228 (which also has an aluminum frame and is an outstanding pistol as well), it was noticeably...

    Refinishing the XD

hmmmm.... That looks interesting. But does anyone know if duracoat a similar process? If it is, it seems to be just as good for somewhat less. http://www.xd-hs2000.com/duracoat.html

    Refinishing the XD

I'm thinking of refinishing my XD9 Service with Springfield's Army Kote. I've heard a few stories about the XD9's finish not being as robust as some other pistol's finishes. So, I figured that I'd take the necessary precautions and hopefully do what I can to avoid potential rust problems...

    Choosing between these two 9mm's

Well, I'm back from the shop. After a long time fondling, holding, and comparing them both side by side, I went with (drum roll please).... The Springfield XD-9. I'll tell you why in a moment. 1st of all, this was one TOUGH decision. I really, really like both pistols. And let me tell...

    Choosing between these two 9mm's

Thanks for all of the replies. I really appreciate it. It's a tough decision. It's so tough that I've decided to eventually get both. But I can't decide which one to start with. hmmmm. Decisions, decisions.

    Choosing between these two 9mm's

It seems that some people have been experiencing problems with WWB lately. Feeding problems, extraction problems, duds, you name it. Maybe their quality control has slipped. Who knows. Now that they aren't making firearms anymore they can focus on ammo quality.

    Choosing between these two 9mm's

Thanks for the replies so far. Between these 2 pistols, which one will have a longer service life? In my opinion, it seems like they pretty much run neck and neck.

    Choosing between these two 9mm's

I'm really torn between two 9mm pistols, The XD-9 and the CZ P-01. I find both of them to be a very good fit for me personally and I really like the way that they both shoot. Since price for them is pretty close (here in Maryland anyway - don't get me started on that), I'm having a hard time...

    CZ-75BD Question

Hey all, It's been awhile since I've posted. You know... life happens. Anyway, I currently own a CZ-75BD. I like it. It shoots well and it's reliable. I have about 200-300 rounds through it. To make a long story short, I've heard some rumors that the CZ-75BD's sear tends to wear out...

    P99 or G19?

I voted for the G19. There's nothing wrong with the Walther. The Glock 19 is IMHO simply the best of all that a glock has to offer. It reliable, easy to maintain, simpler to operate, has a proven "real world" track record, will feed all commercial ammo, it's concealable, suprisingly accurate...

    CZ vs. Sig

All I can say is "Wow!" I realy, really appreciate all of the responses here. After reading all of the great suggestions, I think I've narrowed down my choices to the P-01 and the 228 (with a slight leaning to the P-01). The versatility of the compact models (future concealed carry - when I...

    CZ vs. Sig

Thanks for the replies so far. It seems that the P-01 is winning. Of the P-01 owners out there, have you had luck feeding various hollow point and personal defense loads?

    CZ vs. Sig

I've been reading past posts and asking a few questions here about which 9mm handgun to get for personal protection. I've narrowed down the choices between the CZ-75BD/P-01 or the Sig 226/228. I know cost is a big difference between the 2, and I'm on a budget. I know that the CZ's are...
