    9mm vs.45 recoil

I've not a lot of experience with .45, but the S&W 4506 I had a chance to use, even though a fairly heavy gun had more recoil than any 9mm I've shot. I do prefer to use something that allows me to devote more of my attention to the tgt rather rather than dispersing it via the "kick" factor...

P-89 maybe its not so bad.

I've only shot the P89 once, but it seemed to me to be a nice soft shooting accurate handgun. cheers, js

Glocks and SIG's - your recommendations and why.

Great choice! I look forward to pics and details of your range time with it. Same gun I want to get for my kid (hey I can borrow it too you know ;)) but for now until I get the bucks and find the piece, I'll have to live vicariously through other Sig owners. cheers, js

Advice needed. GLOCK 17 or SIG 226?

A couple weeks ago I tried both of them out and to me the Sig felt better in hand, the trigger was very nice, perceived recoil seemed less than the G17 and I felt more in control and was able to get on target a little quicker. That being said, I am not a very experienced shooter. cheers, js

Love it even though it hurts?

I like trying different guns out for the experience and won't shy away. However when it comes to something to shoot regularly, I'd rather have something that doesn't bother me. cheers,

Interesting causative factor in gun massacres

Try some Thorazine and call me in the morning. Sorry for the flip comment. My only experiences with psychiatric drugs was once with LSD and another time with Thorazine which I had taken "recreation-ally" as a teenager. I'm a pretty easy going amicable kind of a guy. After taking Thorazine...

Interesting causative factor in gun massacres

When it comes to prescribed psychotropics, it is indeed "Big Pharma" and your local psychiatrist creating and filling the need. Millions of our kids would not be made consumers of these mind meds without mega bucks poured into their dissemination through TV and magazine adds, and doctors, school...

    Steyr M9 comparison

I recently took my son to a range to try out different types of semi-automatic pistols including the Sig P226, Sig Pro, Sig P229, Glock 17, HK USP, Ruger P89, Walther P99 and 92FS in hopes of finding out which one to purchase for him as a gift. I'm fairly new to handguns, my son has way more...
