I wet tumble. Just works better for me than dry tumbling. The ultrasonic is for cleaning my pistols, dies and other parts. Just shake brass in beach towel after tumbling and leave out in the garage for a day. No spots and clean and shinny.

I think we are safe here in Alabama but the way the 2A climate is changing, especially in the last 25 years, leads me to believe all may be lost in the next 25 years.

Just my preference, 6.8 spc II. I would think the 6.8 round is lighter than the 300 BO and overall weight may be somewhat lighter. I do think both will do the job. This 6.8 performs well in 16" barrels, which saves weight.

Was this brass that your friend was going to thrash anyway? Maybe fired many times. Could annealing be part of the solution in this instance?

Well, I had a 760 also that my dad passed down to me. Was plenty accurate and held its own in these Alabama woods. Nothing longer than maybe 230-250 yards. I still have it but my sons also use it mostly now.

I use Starline when buying. If I had started with Hornady, then I would stay with Hornady. Limit mixing headstamps. Pickup brass for practice and plinking is different. Not trying to limit component changes.

I started with the RC back in the late 60's. Not much choice back then, but knowing what I know now, I think I would probably go with an O frame design for my first press. Get a kit and start there. Just about everything will fit and work in this design without much thought.

I believe Alliant doesn't recommend them for 2400 either.

I also purchased several for my Hornady LNL and Redding. Very good quality. The fit and finish exceeded my expectations. The Hornady threaded into my powder measure and fits tightly. The Redding had replacement Hopper screws and fits perfectly.

I would not use standard small rifle primers. With AR systems slam fire is an issue. The CCI #41 are designed to deal with the slam fire issue. On the 68forum, reloaders are also using the CCI #450, small rifle magnum primers. I would research the primer issue before making my final selection. I...
