    safe upgrade and fire rating

Thanks Snyper. If I use a small night light I still need power inside. Thus, my original question.

    safe upgrade and fire rating

Thanks for the reply. It's a 1/2" nut welded to the inside of the top of the safe. I'm not sure of the thickness of the steel. It's a National Security H-700 bought back in '91. I'll look into those fittings and the high temp goop. Thanks again.

    safe upgrade and fire rating

Hi, I have a National Security safe. I was thinking of putting a Goldenrod and some lighting in it. It already has a hole in the top. At this time there is a 1/2" bolt plugging the hole. Will removing the plug and threading a power cord through the hole significantly reduce the fire rating...

    Remington 512 scope mount

Never thought of that. If I can't find a gunsmith with a price I can live with, I might try that.

    Remington 512 scope mount

I've got an old Remington 512 tube fed, bolt action, .22 that I want to put a scope on. The owners manual, online, says the receiver is grooved. Well, mine is not. My question is: should I look into having dovetail grooves machined into the receiver or having 4 holes drilled and tapped into...

    Scope for Marlin Model 25 - 22lr

I have a Marlin Model 25 - 22lr. rifle. Until recently, I've only shot it with the original iron sights. Being 66, that doesn't work so well any more. I slapped a red dot on it recently and was getting dime sized groups at about 40 yards. I was impressed. I think I'd like to get a variable...

    .300 blackout doesn't like 150gr. bullets

My brother sent me a .300 blackout upper that he picked up as part of a build. He wanted me to check it out while he was waiting for his lower. Eventually I was going to load some ammo for him. I took it to the range today, mounted on my S&W M&P 15 lower. It loved 125gr. Nosler green tips...

when does a compressed load become dangerous?

I'm working up loads for my 300 AAC blackout. I'm using 125gr. Nosler ballistic tip over Lil Gun. Their data says that 17gr. has a load density of 102% and 18gr. is 108%. That is with brass that is trimmed to, I would assume, 1.363-1.368. They say their 18gr. load is the most accurate. I...

    RCBS powder trickler

I got a knob installed and I secured the bushing that keeps the tube from sliding too far. It works great with my RCBS 5-10 scale. It will be a big help working up loads for my 300 AAC blackout.

    RCBS powder trickler

I was given an RCBS powder trickler. I have never used one before. I was trying it out and powder was coming out both ends. I looked online and saw there is supposed to be a knob on one end. (Probably why I had powder coming out both ends.) I can put a knob on the tube, no problem. My...
