    2020 kill thread

Haven't been able to get out at all this fall due to a crazy work schedule, family conflicts, life in general. Said I would make sure to hunt Thanksgiving morning before things got crazy. Secured permission to hunt a friends property, that I always thought had great potential but in 15 years...

New hunter needs help with VA deer hunting regulations

I'm up in Fairfax. Always looking for places to hunt. Would be interested in checking your property out if your looking to lease it (or even just inclined to let people hunt it).

New hunter needs help with VA deer hunting regulations

Yes. That is the case. There used to be some counties that didn't allow slugs, and only allowed buckshot (see local ordinance #s 3, 9, 45). Both Southampton and the City of Hampton and Fairfax County ban slugs (so does Arlington and the City of Alexandria - but they don't allow any hunting...

Tree Stands from Yesteryear Picture Thread

Strangest thing you came across while hunting

I don't think they can be manufactured any more. Not sure if they are illegal to sell. Don't think this one works. It was a VERY odd place to find it. Not sure how long it had been there. We just added this land to your club this fall - and while we hunted it alot (I shot two white...

Strangest thing you came across while hunting

I came across this the other day, hunting in Maryland on property we lease. This is a good ways from any public road. Of course, its been leased for years - and the area has had a human presence since John Smith first surveyed the land in 1608.

    $300 NRA life membership

I've got a match. Here light it and place your money over it. It's a better use of your cash, for fighting gun control, than a donation to the utterly worthless Gun Owners of America. Tapatalking!

    Vote in Washington Post Poll

This is super important. Please go to the Washington Post and vote now. They have chosen a Christmas wreath constructed of shot gun shells and made by the good folks at Shady Grove Hunting Preserve (Remington, VA) as one of the seven finalists for 2012 Holiday Craft of the year. Winner...

Where and how to get pigs in SW FL?

I assume your from out west. Hunting in the east is generally different. Small game covers everything that isn't waterfowl or big game. In most places, Florida included, hogs are a terrible menace. A nuisance species, and not regulated as game. On public lands, you will generally find some...

Not again.......! Feral Hog Control in East Texas

Heh, looks like I'm gonna be in Dallas for a business trip the last week of January. How far away do I need to think of heading in order to get on some hogs?

    Does anyone still use buckshot?

In Oklahoma a number of WMA's (well, at least two) require it for hogs outside of deer season. In Virginia, the dog hunters use it. Used it for the first time last fall when I went out with them for the first time ever. I was just drawn for a lottery management hunt on a state forest that...
