    N frame holster recommendation

I have never carried a large revolver all day. I was wondering what sort of holster the experienced would recommend for multi-day back-country trips. My new 29-2 6":

    Remington model 58

I ran across a model 58 and don't know much about them. It sure looks a lot like the 1100, although I didn't have one right there to compare it to. Is the 58 a good gun?

    Seattle gun stores

I will be visiting Seattle and wanted to take a look around. I searched for Warshall's on the web and found nothing. Is it gone? Are there any gun shops in Seattle anymore?

Is it overreacting to buy American...

..really American? Sure, some nice guns are assembled here by foreign companies. But where does the profit go? Back to the fatherland where it is not only cool to hate America, but they send money to the Iraqi insurgents...

    .45 ACP revolvers

I'm thinking of getting one, blued, shooter. So far, a S&W 1917 that's been to Brazil and back seems to be the best for the money. Talk me out of it.

    Devolution

The first rifle I ever fired was an AR-15A1 in boot camp. Later I bought a lever action, a M1917 Enfield, built a flintlock. Now I find myself with a bow - and finally noticed the trend. What's next, a spear?

    NICS limbo

overzealous NICS ? What do you do with a gun seller who outright refuses to sell when the buyer gets a NICS delay? No 3-day wait, no waiting for approval, just forget it pal.

    trigger happy?

Maybe someone local has more details, but it does seem a bit much to taser a guy at a salad bar who may be a jerk, but is not a threat. http://www.thedenverchannel.com/news/4242058/detail.html Drop that romaine, holster those olives.

    home defense gun tax deduction

I was just starting to work on my taxes and when I saw that tax preparation expenses were deductible. I thought of other services you can do for yourself to help out with the job of governing. Home-defense firearms should be tax deductible. Within reason, maybe one per year, so guys can't try...

    This could get interesting

Here's a guy who writes about receiving a pistol in the mail in California. Maybe monday he will write about his experiences with the legal system. I wonder if he is niave, left out some facts (FFL), or if he's intentionally inviting a conviction as part of a series on the encroachment of the...

    barrel question

I've seen barrels for sale that have been sawn off just forward of the chamber. First, why would someone want to do this? Second, is it possible to drill a new chamber, thread the outside, and go?

    M1918 BAR sights?

I read somewhere that the BAR used an M1917 (Enfiled) rear sight, but that was adjustable for windage. Can this rear sight be used on the M1917 without modifying the rifle?

    Enfield head space

I understand that several different thickness bolt faces were made for the Enfields, so you can swap them out to change the head space. Brilliant! Is this also true for the (30.06 with a British accent) 1917?

    Election Predictions

Polls, news, experts. Humbug. Let's just call it now and see if THR can predict the results. I'm thinking that the media outlets see it as a close race because of their bias, and because it's in their financial interests to keep the "story" exciting. Remember Mondale? I say Bush 59%...
