This is an interest topic that I have though about a few times. The times when I had a very hard time closing the bolt on the gun. Yes I forced it closed but I never load at max volumes and this was at the ranges so I knew the round would be shot. I guess 1% of the 308 that were load I might...
A couple years ago my system went off around 2:30. I have a Glock 30 next to the bed with a tactical hand held light. I live with neighbors no more than 30 to 40 feet away from me. I sweep the house with the 30 and the light. There was no problem. Mean while the security system came over the...
Now to add to the conversation, if you have 2000 rounds of factory ammo and 2000 rounds of reloads all the same caliber, what do you shoot? The factory was bought before you started reloading.
bassjam, I buy brass all the time when I find it at a price that I can not turn down. The cheapest I have found 9 MM was about .02 a case and for 223 was about .04 a case. YES, it was dirty but it was cheap. One thing I will not run out of is 9 and 223 brass.
And range pick-up is even cheaper.
Mn Fats, I am a little backwards in thinking. If the factory rounds are cheap, why not buy them a stick them in the Conner so when the price of ammo goes sky high again you have factory ammo to shoot or sell. But I would prefer to buy more reloading components and store them away for when that...
For you reloaders out there. When was the last time you shot factory rounds at the range? Or when was the last time you bought factory rounds besides 22?
For me, I have not bought factory rounds in he last 3 years. Those were 308 rounds when I got my first hi-power rifle. I think that I still...
I reload for a Marlin and a Ruger 1 and like shooting a 405 grn lead bullet. I usually keep the velocity below 1400 f/sec. They used to hunt buffalo with that bullet.
I will shot and reloaded Hornady 350 and Nosler 300 JHP only if I want to top 1600 f/sec but do not like the recoil with out the...
I have a bunch of dies for different calibers but never though of looking for 25 ACP dies. I have about 10 boxes of ammo for the past 15 years and I think the last time I shot a 25 ACP was 30 years ago. With that said, if I found a used set of dies I would buy them just to have and still...
About 15 years ago I was doing the gun transfers for the 3 day holding period that Savannah required. The table next to me was selling SKS and AKs and when some guy was pointing the gun at the ceiling he pulled the trigger and a round was in the chamber. It was suppose to be a new gun. The...
azrocks I am not going to pass judgement on the trigger until I get 500+ rounds through the gun. This is not a target gun (maybe it is - humana size targets) so the trigger pull does not mean as much as it does in the PPQ. I was carrying a SCCY DAO and S&W 640 and 642 so this one does feel better.
I just ordered a drop in trigger from Deltateamtactical.com for less than $100. Claims to have a 3# pull and list for $215.
(AR-15 M4 3.0 lb Drop in Ultra Match Trigger System Nickel Boron Finish)
I figure that I would give it a try.

DougW - you are a lucky guy. I wish my wife would enjoy shooting as much as I do. Would make buy guns and reloading supplies a lot easier. I have enough to last the next 2 lows in supplies. I am just replacing what I am shooting.
No, the ALG worked fine but I wanted to try a milspec that I polished (only) and that one went full auto. I put the gun up before the magazine was empty and when I got home I put the ALG back in the gun.
ddc, I was using an ALG trigger with zero creep but close to a 6 pound break. I had a milspec trigger (with Wolff springs) that I polished with mother's to a mirror finish but did not grind or file anything.
I was using Shooter's World Auto Pistol powder. Was shooting extreme 115 and 124 grn...
I have tried a KelTec (3), Ruger and S&W Shield in 9mm single stack guns and really did not like they way they felt in my hand or the recoil. I heard that the Walther PPS was a just like the PPQ (which I love) so I ended up getting one. Took it to the range today and the people who said that...
I reload everything that I shoot (14 calibers) and have dies for about 6 calibers that I would like to shoot. I stand corrected, I have a 25 that I have not shot in 30 years and have 8 or 9 boxes of factory ammo. Really do not think about shooting.
