    Weapon-system

I always thought that saying started with the AR since you can build it like a barbie doll.:D You certainly don't call a real rifle you know an M1A, Garand, or Fn49 a "weapon system". They are simply rifles, or if out of ammo "war clubs".:D

What do you guys think about this?

14 is pretty young, they have a lot of life to live and learn from.

    Use by date on ammo?

Wow that sucks I expect ammo properly stored to last at least 50 years, if not longer. The Russian spam cans full of good old highly corrosive ammo will probably keep for 100+ years!:D

    SCAR bummer

I look at the Scar as an evolution of the Fn49, and Fal, ie its the battle rifle perfected. After now 70 years of experience around the world with probably 100 different army's; FN has taken that experience and perfected it with 21st century technology and engineering. The FAl marched around...

    SCAR bummer

That's the plan, last I read FN plans on making the 17 lower compatible with a bunch of different uppers, sniper, DMR, infantry, 5.56 kit, etc. I guess the 16 will be phased out? They also have a new grenade launcher to replace the M203. FN seems to want to make the 17 lower capable of accepting...

    FN Scar 17...

I want one because I like collecting guns and I want one of everything. Why does it have to be a choice between a Scar and AR, M1A or whatever? Own them all and enjoy them all for what they are. I find the Scar so interesting because its the first really 21st century rifle to be fielded...

    FN Scar 17...

I love it, I got to handle one this weekend for the first time. Slightly larger than the 16, but not horrible so. Feels like a very well made piece. It seems to be the only real 21st century battle rifle on the market currently, its the grandson of my Fn49 and it feels like they are from the...

66 Years Ago Today - Iwo Jima

My Grandfather served in the Pacific, I still have his M1 Carbine and Ka bar. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=98IXQRkVYf0 If anyone hasn't yet I strongly recommend watching The Pacific.

    Range Rules

At lot of ranges around me annoy me. AFAIK if it involves safety fine, I'm all for it, but a lot of rules are BS. For starters I'll wear what I want, thanks I know what a burning 5.56 down the back of my shirt feels like I'll wear a T shirt in the summer. Mind your own business on my attire. I...

    Appleseed .22LR Ammo

As long as it works, jams are a PITA when your shooting timed AQT's. Figure out what your .22 shots well and bring two bricks. FYI, bring extra mag's, so if one act's up you can throw it aside and keep loading good ones. I'd recommend at least 5-6 known good mags.

Got a new 10/22 WOW lots of plastic

Mine has worked fine since I bought it, one Appleseed and about 15k rounds of abuse later. Plastic is nice it doesn't rust or corrode.

    300 yard FAL accuracy

No, Fal's were not built to be tack drivers. A couple MOA is more than enough to hit a person at 300 yards, that's what they were built for. Nothing more. For that kind of accuracy your going to need one heck of a bolt gun, Sako maybe, Accuracy International, etc.

    M1A vs M14

No M14 is full auto, class 3 at this point, and worth about 30 times as much.

    Swiss Straight Pull Rifles

They are both fantastic rifles, I would purchase both. The K11/G11 are older, and probably more accurate than a lot of modern rifles. The K31 is just a more modern design, and as a result easier and a bit cheaper to buy. Whatever you buy you will not be disappointed. The barrels are usually...

Indian Army finds 5.56 ineffective and wants more AKs

No they don't, you should attend one. They pretty much teach the old AQT, I don't know when they stopped shooting it, but the old timers who qualified with a Garand would be very familiar with it. Or a Marine.

Indian Army finds 5.56 ineffective and wants more AKs

Cause AK47's are cheap, they can't afford to field a proper first world design and modern caliber. Outside of Russia, the only army's that use AK's do so because they can't afford to purchase a modern design, or build their own. India's own rifle is a POS, and they can't afford to buy say a...

Why is a SCAR so expensive?

You do realize that the SCAR is brand new and the FAL has been out for about 60 years now. The FAL is old technology. Your condemning the rifle before its even out of the gate.

    $2500 1911's?

My $600 Springfield mil spec was reliable out of the box, still is 1,500 rounds later without a jam. Well it didn't like Speer Gold dots at first but now that's not a problem. IMHO the main difference between a $600 1911 and a $2500 is the fit and finish and the trigger. You do get a much...

    Beretta 92FS

Fantastic pistols, I really like them. I have popped water jugs out to 75 yards with them, and with practice they can probably be accurate 100 yard pistols. IMHO to big for CC, they are holster guns. Guys still do it, but I don't know how I guess they just deal with it.

End of the World....Beretta 92FS or GLOCK 17?

I don't really care for plastic pistols so I would take the 92. Get an Inox they look cool!
