Yep - in January I bought a NIB .40 from a well-known, "quality" manufacturer and the barrel was not rifled. Took a little over 3 weeks to get it back with a new barrel.
Best range 9mm I've ever had is my Walther PPQ. Most fun to shoot AND admire is my Walther P1 (used - $329 from Bud's). Still looking for a great WWII-era P38 that I'm sure would be even better.
I loved everything about mine except the grip angle. Being more accustomed to the 1911, my natural point of aim with the Cougar was always low. Functioning was always perfect and recoil almost non-existent. Sold it and got a PPQ which I love even more.
I recently posted 2 guns on Armslist and they both sold within 12 hours at my asking price. Both transactions went smooth as glass. Haven't purchased from it yet, but I'm sure I will when the right deal comes along. One thing I did to make sure I didn't get any flakes was say in the ad that I...
I live in the CO Rockies, and I would say your odds of needing a weapon against "large game" are incredibly low. The most dangerous animal in CO is likely the moose and there are very few of them - mostly in the Rocky Mtn Natl. Park area.
The occasional black bear or mountain lion are highly...
I went through a "never sell" period for many years, but now I am actively selling and buying. I have a self-imposed edict that I will spend no "new" money on guns, so if I want something new, something old has to go (usually something I haven't shot in years).
The first couple of sales were...
I have one I bought new and haven't shot in at least 10 years. I've probably put only 30-40 rounds through it as it is a bit brutal and not terribly practical for carry (have a PF-9 for that). Interesting concept, but.....
I have a SA compact 4" on an Officer frame. I think it's the perfect carry gun (if you happen to move) and it's dead-nuts reliable and accurate. I don't think it gives up anything to a full-size except a few FPS.
Picked up an ordered gun on Friday and I was #150 in line for background check (state of CO only). Dealer said last Saturday, he submitted one that was over 400 in line.
+1. While looking on Bud's Sunday, 2 models went from "in stock" to "out" within a couple of hours. Found what I wanted at Tombstone Tactical for only $4 more, but it was their last one.
+1 Later today, I'm selling both of my .40 pistols and all .40 ammo. Just don't enjoy shooting .40 and therefor, don't shoot it well. Getting a nice new 1911 and more .45 reloading components.
