    So I bought a Ruger LC9

I wanted a slim, and lightweight 9mm, or possibly a 380, and handled a bunch of them a few months back. The Beretta Nano, Ruger LC9, Kahr PM9, Taurus 709 Slim, etc. The Kahr PM9 and Ruger LC9 felt best in my hand, and I read a bunch on both. It seemed the Ruger had less reports of...

    Light weight .357

I have previously owned, and shot a S&W Airlite with 357 mag rounds. And like others have stated, it truly is BRUTAL. I also am not "recoil shy", and this is the only gun/ammo combo that actually hurt my hand after shooting only a few rounds. Then if you look at the ballistics of a 357...

    9mm Carry Ammo

Gold Dot 124 grain +P functions fine in my glock. Ballistically the 124 grain rounds usually perform the best in tests.

    My perfect J-frame carry piece

Over the years I have bounced around from different revolvers, trying different types of holsters, and also tried semi autos as well. The semi autos always proved themselves to be too unreliable, even though I always bought top quality stuff. And I do want to worry whether my gun is reliable...

    Just can't replace my J-frame .38

The orange on my front sight is not painted on....the fixed front sight had a portion cut out, and the orange material was slid in there.

    Just can't replace my J-frame .38

Tried the LCP and sold it. It did jam once, but it was just too "Kel Tec-ish". It produced the smilies like the P-3AT does, and while it feels more solid than a Kel Tec, it just didn't do it for me. Not a bad gun though.

    Just can't replace my J-frame .38

I have tried over and over again to buy, carry, and trust a small semi auto, but I can't do it. I don't think all semi-autos are garbage or unreliable, it just seems the small ones just aren't reliable enough for carry. I have several Glocks, but found the G26 too big for carry. I've had...

    J Frame Low Recoil Ammunition

Another vote for the Cor Bon 110 Grain +P DPX...but like said above its gonna cost a lot....about $32-38 a box of 20 w/o shipping.

    M&p 340

Anything in the rumor mill about this model being produced without the internal lock? I know they have done runs of 642/442 with no lock, and the M&P auto loaders are offered without the lock. I will keep checking back with S&W to see if they do so. -Thanks

    air flight luggage question

yea u can, but its gotta be locked up, and you have to declare it also. The TSA people will probably also handle it to check it out. http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/prohibited/permitted-prohibited-items.shtm

Any Love For The Smith & Wesson 60-4 3" Heavy Barrel "Chief's Special"?

I recently got both a 60-4, and a 60-10 off Gunbroker. The -10 is rated for 357 mag with no lock, and has the laser etched markings. The -4 is .38 special +P with roll marked barrel, and has a target hammer and trigger. This one just feels more "classic" being .38 only, and with roll...

    LCR broke!

Keep us updated DPris! Did you measure endshake, and/or the b/c gap before the test so you could compare it at the end? I see Black Hills has that load listed as 1050 FPS, and I'm guessing that is out of a 4" barrel. So using the 50 FPS per inch of barrel rule that "should" make it 950 FPS...

DPris- what kind of ammo are you using for your test?

    Ruger LCR Question

I measured the B/C gap and the .008 fit in there very tightly. .008 is certainly just fine, and I'm happy that Ruger "fixed" the gun. The B/C gap was never a big concern for me like the endshake was. I have never owned a gun with as much endshake as my LCR had before I sent it out. I...

    Ruger LCR Question

Picked up my LCR today. The sheet from Ruger says they replaced the barrel, cylinder, firing pin, trigger, and hammer. There is no endshake at all now. I haven't got my gauges to measure the b/c gap but I will. Now I have to shoot it. Just weird they would replace on that stuff on a brand...

Anyone else wish they made a smaller Revolver??

You guys have a bunch of great ideas. There seems to be a decent sized interest in a gun like this. I believe the Ruger LCR has the most narrow cylinder at 1.28 inches, but as stated in a previous post someone measured thier 5-shot 32 S&W long at 1 1/16. That comes out to 1.06 in width...

Anyone else wish they made a smaller Revolver??

Woad Yurt- Now that 32 is what I'm talking about. That is a 5-shot then? That size gun in 32 H&R Mag loaded with 100 grain ammo doing 900+ FPS would be awesome. Get some nice grips, and put a pinned front sight, and you've got a great reliable pocket gun!

.38 Special +P in an aluminum Airweight - Safe?

I have a 442 no dash, which is not +P marked. I have fired about 40-50 rounds of +P ammo, and its 100% fine. Even the older Colt Agents made in the 70's and 80's were rated from the factory to fire about 500-1000 rounds of +P. You won't blow up the gun.
