Took my Taurus Model 76 out for a spin

Im wondering what everyone's cylinder throats are measuring? Mine are big at .316 and was getting some serious leading with .313 cast bullets, as well as .314 hollow base cast bullets at the forcing cone and first 1/2" beyond it, from gas cutting. The bore is about .312/.313. Forcing cone is...

Thanks, lincen. Grips were going to be my next question.

Took my Taurus Model 76 out for a spin

Very nice. Mine has the Taurus wood grips as well. While they look good, I would like something better for one handed Bullseye style shooting. I assume anything listed for Taurus medium frame, square butt would fit properly? I see mention of old and new models sometimes.

Took my Taurus Model 76 out for a spin

I haven't seen him list any 6" models of the 32H&R. I bought the .32 SWL because I really wanted the 6" barrel for target shooting.

Took my Taurus Model 76 out for a spin

BTW, this is mine, and this was my initial testing with my wadcutter load mentioned above, while sighting it in, at 20 yards off a rest. They chrono about 760 +/- 15. That's a 1" target repair dot for reference. Wish I could do that off hand!......Def has potential!

Took my Taurus Model 76 out for a spin

Just found this post. I, too, bought one of these from RGUNS off GB, about 3 months ago. Mine has the wood grips. 6 inch, Model 76 in 32 long. Included was the original box with matching model and serial number on it. Born on date is April 2004. So far, very pleased. Immaculate condition, looked...

There's a great (but very lengthy) conversation on making your own reloadable .32 rimfire cartridges to keep these old guns in the game.

    Missouri Bullet Co

All I can say is, Wow. What great service. Placed a small order on Friday 4-24 (500 of one bullet type, and 2 100 bullet sample packs.) Came home from work on Monday, and there they were! No idea how they do that! Upon opening the box, I discovered loose bullets all throughout. One sample...

Shooting the .32 rimfire Smith & Wesson

Well, having some problems with my Stevens 1894 32 rf, hoping someone else can chime in. I have a complete box of old factory ammo, but I want to keep it intact for collectible purposes. So I ordered 10 cartridges from H&C, these are the cases with the bullet already seated in them. First...

Shooting the .32 rimfire Smith & Wesson

I just received a Stevens Favorite 1894 in .32 long rimfire and was also looking at the stuff from H&C in order to fire the gun. I have taken it completely down, inspected, cleaned, etc. Appears to be good to go. Oyvind, can you tell me if the dies are necessary? I have heard that the case...

    Imbicile!

Shot an arrow into mine.........the lcd still worked! Couldn't read the numbers though. Sent it back to Chrony with $35 to fix it. They led me to believe that they see it all the time....lol Had it back in 4 days. All in all, pretty good.

Whats Your Favorite Missouri Bullet Load

My update after the weekend at Pop's. Loaded the 200's with 3.5 Bullseye at about 1.215. The 250's required a much shorter col to feed. They ended up at about 1.190 / 1.195 using 4.4 Bullseye. The 250's average around 805 fps, with no signs of excessive pressure. CCI primers in both. The...

Whats Your Favorite Missouri Bullet Load

Thanks, SJC. Are you using these in a 1911? Are they good feeders? By best results, are you referring to feeding reliability or accuracy? Can the case rim wind up over the crimping groove, or should I focus on staying at/below or at/above the groove? I assume the rim would still headspace...

Whats Your Favorite Missouri Bullet Load

Hopefully this post belongs here well enough, since I just bought my first lead bullets. Will be reloading for my RIA 1911 45, using Bullseye powder. I will be visiting my father, who reloads, & want to try to learn as much as I can beforehand. I bought the Missouri Bullet IDP#4-XD 200 gr...
