Does anyone know if the Tactical is offered in .38 Super?

.38 Super/9x23 conversion? Resurrecting this thread for the above question. Do you think these pistols (4" or 5") are suitable for barrel swap conversion to .38 Super/9x23? I have .45 1911s (Para P13 and STI Trojan). I love them. Just intrigued by this idea. I've been thinking about this...

    VZ.58 Club:

I have always wondered how much ammo justifies a new weapons platfrom purchase....;) Hah. Enough to meet my minimum desired load up for a SHTF rifle with leftovers.:p Not that I was writing tongue in cheek or really needed a justification.;) Thanks for the tips.

    EAA Witness .38 Super

Elite Match Fun Chiming in. I have an Elite Match I've put a few hundred rounds through. One failure to go into battery on the first mag which I attribute to break-in, and flawless since. I have some 9x23 and a stiffer recoil spring, but haven't tried it yet. This is actually why I bought the...

Current vz%* market/prices Greetings, everyone: I don't own a 7.62x39 rifle, though I've read a fair bit by default on gun forums, including most of this thread. Most of my experiences is with ARs, bolt guns and non-VZ/AK platforms. I came into some ammo, enough to "justify" ;) a rifle...

    A question of readiness

If you've seen any of Oleg's previous work, he's created numerous posters of people protecting themselves with "normal" firearms. I happen to think reinforcing the principle is more important than the tools used, and I see a normal person using the best tools he can to perform his most vital...

    Opinions on Comp-Tac minotaur holster?

I just got one today (ordered Tuesday pm!) for my Para P-13. It is the first IWB holster with which I can comfortably carry this brick of a pistol. The workmanship/finish is excellent, and Comp-Tac's customer service is outstanding. They will get more of my business,

    .38 Super 1911

Do current Colt Supers use a ramped or unramped barrel? I assume they are unramped, but I'm curious as I'd like a Lightweight Commander to run 9x19 and 9x23 through, and I'd rather start with a cut frame for a fully supported 9x23 barrel.

    Fitting a Mossberg 500

I have no input except to say I would very much like to hear the results of this discussion as well. I have a 590 w/Speedfeed which is too long for my relatively short arms, and a similar recoil aversion. SADShooter

    3" K-Frame Leather: M65 vs PC13 (w/ lug)?

John: I can't speak to the K-frame question, but I have been very pleased with a Kramer Belt Scabbard I bough used for a Colt Pocket 9. (For which, incidentally, you sold me some magazines a few years ago...) I think a similar holster would be an excellent choice for your revolver, assuming...

Serious question about choosing a woman and hunting

Core Issue is the Relationship... I wouldn't be hunting today if I hadn't married the woman I did, since she owns the property I hunt on. That said, she's an integral part of what makes it pleasurable for me. Hearing "Good shot, hon" and talking venison recipes is better than...

    HBE IWB Holster Opinions wanted.....

Forgive what may be a silly question: What is the purpose of the rings stamped into the belt clips? Do they increase rigidity? Edited to add: Gorgeous leather work, BTW.

I thought the name "Moroney" in the thread title was a joke.

Gore speech - democracy in grave danger

MrTuffPaws: Sorry to disagree with you, but: "Jon Stewart, brilliant host of "The Daily Show"" sums it up even more succinctly. I think Stewart is funny, but when the man who thought himself qualified to be President calls satire on cheerleaders brilliant, and an accurate comment on the...

    Good Shooting Movies

kj: I've got your back, buddy. (And the entire Sharpe's series on VHS). Excellent, even if the plots got cheesier toward the end. Albert Finney as a cigar-chewing, slipper-wearing gangster toting the inexhaustible Thompson in "Miller's Crossing" is always a pleasant, if silly, diversion.

"It Takes A Thief" series and "guard dogs"

sumpnz +1 I don't expect my dog to fight/sacrifice himself to protect our stuff. He's there to bark as a deterrent. Failing that, I want him to keep himself intact. I DO expect him to fight to his last breath protecting Mama, if the attacker(s)/ get past me /or I'm not there /(or Mama...

    Can you cook?

Pantry commando here. I'm not scrawny by any means, and my wife, who likes to eat, eats very well thanks to my "slaving over the hot stove" yadda yadda. ;) Growing up, my father retired and took over the cooking chores with a lot of fresh ingredients and a willingness to experiment. I got...
