What would you do if restaurant you are dining in is being held up

Been a while since I've been in these forums, so I'll offer my two cents while I'm browsing around. Like others have said, I'm in no position to play hero. The little bit of jewelery can be replaced. I can always go earn more money (considering I drive taxi full-time, it's pretty much a ATM...

    Who are you?

Yeah, can't believe it's gone this far for this long (not to mention a long time since I logged into these forums). UPDATE: Now 31 (will be 32 in a little over three weeks), Married, 2 stepsons and a 2-month old daughter of my own (who already gets this "Oooh! Shiny! I want one!" look on...

    Who are you?

Wow! Amazing how long this thread has lasted! Here's my update: Age 31 now, married to a wonderful woman with 2 boys (ages 6 and 2), another baby on the way (I'm praying for a girl this time), working full-time as a Professional Driver and part-time as a Bail Enforcement Officer. -38SnubFan

    Obama's Plans to Disarm America....

I currently don't see a single candidate worth voting for. That's what scares me the most. I just read the same discussion about Obama on another forum:Pennsylvania Firearm Owner's Association I'll give the same reply I gave there: "At Thermoplyae, 1,000,000 Persians lost 20,000 yet...

    Daughter's school

I smell some male bovine fecal material here... There are some definite holes in the story, but it did make me think, since I'm the father of 2 boys (ages 6 and 2). It makes me realize that our educators have a lot of influence on our children, and that some of that influence may not be...

    What would you do?

My best answer given the scenario in question.... Given the small amount of "knowns" in this scenario, I'd have to admit that I would retreat myself to an area of cover, have my weapon ready should the subject in question change his aim to my direction, then get on the cell phone to 911 and...

Thumb Snap Poll: Yes or No?

Retention is crucial I voted YES. I use a Bianchi belt-slide holster with a thumb-break with my Taurus 24/7 Pro, and a Bianchi Black Widow for my .38 Spl. snub-nose. I've occasionally used an inexpensive Uncle Mike's IWB for the snubby for "dressier" clothing when I need to print less, but...

Wow! This thread still lives??? Just turned 30 about a month ago.

    Why the Left hates Self-Defense

Now correct me if I'm wrong, but if a gun in his hand would cause him to kill someone in self-defense, then wouldn't that mean that "KILLING" (I prefer to say use whatever force necessary to stop the attack, which doesn't necessarily mean taking the BG's life), WOULD BE an option? Cbsbyte, it...

    I hate carrying a gun

When I first started carrying, I didn't find it as much of a pain in the a** as I did just feeling "weird" or "nervous". I used the IWB method and although it was a pain in my side, I remembered what I had read: a gun isn't necessarily as comfortable as it is supposed to be comforting...

USC students exhibit proper mindset, disarm gunman at party

(from your signature line) Bet he's thinking of recanting that statement, eh? Yeah. I doubt it too.

    Orlando Weekly on CCW

Mousegun, yes. But we all know a .25 in the hand is better than a .45 left at home. It's actually kind of heart-warming to see more publishings of people learning the shooting sports and obtaining their CCW licenses. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy myself.

    What is your age?

    28. 29 in less than a month (March 25th). So what new toy are you guys gonna buy me for my birthday? :D :p

Do you use concealed carry piece as home defense gun also?

Yes! Unfortunately, it's the only gun I own right now. Had to sell the .45 due to financial constraints. Probably gonna end up replacing it with a Glock 22 or 23 (.40 S&W with 15-rd. mags sounds a little nicer). If it's not on my hip, it's next to me when I sleep! -38SnubFan

    How often do you carry?

I am a MAN. If I leave my house, the gun goes with me. If I'm going somewhere where my gun isn't permitted, it's in a locked case in the trunk. Unless it's a school, in which case, I guess it HAS to stay home. :( Only other exception would be the occasional trip to DE to pick the...

    Self Defense

Here's what I practice: 1. Fire only enough shots to stop the threat. If the first shot puts him down, then you don't need to fire a second. If the first shot doesn't, then you need to fire again. Keep firing, quickly and repeatedly, until the threat stops, runs away, or hits the ground...

CCW: How many have you actually carried ... at one time?

I carry ONE gun, and (possibly) one reload. I keep the gun positioned on me so that I can access it under any condition. I just don't see the point to multiple guns. Carrying one is a big responsibility. I think more than one would open yourself up to some rather heavy legal liabilities...

    CCW mindset (long)

I, too, used to have a rotten temper. I was ready to tell off anyone who crossed my path. If someone wanted a fight, I'd give them one. If they confronted me and threatened, they got their a** beaten right then and there (or at least a strong verbal threat thereof). When I got my permit...

    Get nationwide concealed carry rights

I think the biggest concern with national reciprocity is the fact that different states have different guidelines for obtaining permits. Some are more leniant than others. Here in PA where I live, it's as simple as going to the County Sheriff's Office (or Chief Of Police in Philadelphia)...

    carjacking WWYD?

FIRST AND BIGGEST MISTAKE YOU COULD EVER MAKE! Best suggestion: If the car is driveable, go to a public place to exchange information. If not, then keep the doors locked, only crack the windows to slip info through, and until the situation is assessed as safe, keep the cell phone in hand...
