Firearm record at FFL on transfer

What if one then subsequently sells the firearm, using an FFL for the background check and transfer. Does the sale go into the bound book?

Firearm record at FFL on transfer

When I undergo a background check and fill out the papers to purchase a firearm, is there a record of the firearm tied to that background check? What if I purchase multiple guns? Asking for a friend.

Explosive power, 1 lb black powder

I have more BP in my garage than I am comfortable with. Going into the garden shed, in a wood footlocker, locked. Even tho it is dry here, will put the cans in Ziplock bags to help ensure dry. No metal ammo cans no more. David NM

First Circuit allows lawsuit to continue by Mexico against several gun manufacturers.

I had a girlfriend long ago who was an attorney. Said the folks that had the worst time in law school were engineers. As she smiled at this engineer.... David NM

    Ammo Going OUT of California

Thanks to some wise PM counsel, from folks that have dealt with this process, the ammo and reloading components have made it from CA to their new home. Guns also made the move, weaving through the goofy CA maze of laws, and now reside in new locations. Hopefully I was "High Road" enough, but...

Explosive power, 1 lb black powder

Being pedantic here, you can't detonate black powder because it doesn't. Deflagrates. Might be hard to tell the difference if you are sitting on top of it when it goes off....

    Ammo Going OUT of California

I think I am going to let this one be....there is too much in the rules and regulations for ammunition purchase or transfer, and I think I am going to surrender and just ship brass and bullets home. The loaded stuff will stay, or we will work out a way to ship it via the CA transfer process...

persistent rust in barrel after cleaning

Very true, but hydrogen peroxide will do its oxidizing bit in this soup - it won't stay H2O2 very long. I just use the windshield washer fluid with methanol, occasionally with a bit of Murphy's added. I clean up my hands with the peroxide (does a good job of it, and that is my guess where it...

Anyone here ever buy one of these BP kits?

I beg to differ. Most folks are not very good at careful.

    Ammo Going OUT of California

Can I carry hand-loaded ammunition in my luggage traveling from CA to my home? Do I have to go through an FFL in CA to ship it to myself?

    Your favorite paper target mods

For pistol, I use a 3x5 notecard. Ain't braggin', just what I use. I don't brag because I don't hit it all the time. For rifle, I spend for the splat targets, once the gun is sighted in (if I am sighting, I use a grid). No real mods, except at longer distances I was using an orange spot on...

    Possibles bag recommendations

It's easy to want to carry everything and the kitchen sink. Take a minimalist look if you are hunting. If you are at the range, minimalist still works, you have your range box there. I prefer to use a small/medium-ish sized bag, the big ones have been or will be given away. David NM

    What to know about Tannerite?

Whatcha think the velocity of the shrapnel might be? Tannerite makes me uncomfortable. Working a bit around HE, i was very impressed by chunks of railroad rail at 7000fps...

Kamala Harris has been appointed to head the new "Office of Gun Violence Prevention"

I strongly disagree - I think we DO have to worry about this. If Kamala fails, whose fault will it be? The GOP/Libertarians/Conservatives. When legislation cannot pass? Blame the NRA. Televise ever drive-by that kills a child, or road rage incident that kills a mom. Governor Grisham and...

    My MOST MEMORABLE shot.

Did one similar - a friend handed me his new (to him) muzzleloader and asked me to take a shot. We were posting those Davy Crocket Vee notch targets. I took a shot, and put the ball absolutely perfectly in the notch. Had the presence of mind to stay cool, and hand the rifle back and say...

NM governor "suspends" open & concealed carry of firearms in Albuquerque

Courts in NM will uphold her order - totally blue, totally in league with her. That's all she needs to make her point. David NM

.36/.40/.45 in a kibler Southern Mountain rifle?

We all get our opinion - mine is that .40 is a great caliber. Not legal here in NM for deer, used to hunt with a .40 for mule deer in Oregon, a good clean kill. David NM

    Home defense shotgun

I have two very nice, 20ga Remington 1100s. I am coming to realize that they likely are not the best home defense shotguns, unless I load with slugs and shorten the barrel. So, what do you recommend? My preference is not an "assault shotgun" (tongue in cheek, there, don't get mad), I like...
