I've shot a shield 9mm and glock 43. Both have very little recoil. I don't think anyone of normal physical stature would have any issues with the recoil of either of these. Hope this helps!

I'd buy a walther pps in 9mm with magazines and holsters. I'd take a defensive pistol class and bring along a fullsize 9mm. I'd spend the rest on ammo.

In a revolver, you are simply verifying the point of aim with a specific ammo. So, with defensive ammunition, you only need to shoot a cylinder full. 5, 6, 7, or 8. Done!
