    Reasonable cost 7.62x39 Upper

Thanks for all the information. I rechecked PSA’s website - you are correct. I was looking at the ‘KS-47’ uppers which had the note. They do show availability on one model of a ‘standard‘ upper that I had missed the first time. Looks like several good options exist - choices are always...

    Reasonable cost 7.62x39 Upper

I have been using PSA uppers on AR-15 builds. However, when reading the specs on the PSA 7.62x39 uppers there is a note stating that they will not fit on a Mil-spec Ar-15 lower. I am looking for suggestions on a compatible upper in this chambering, or, learning if simple modifications will allow...

    Suppressor on 6.5 Grendel

Thanks for your input. Brass catcher is on the rifle - I ran a few rounds w/o it but will do a few more to verify the pattern. It is a Banish 30 - I tried it in both the full and compact lengths. Grouping was decent in both configurations - slightly better in ‘full.’ Shooting roughly 1.5 MOA...

    Suppressor on 6.5 Grendel

I added a Banish suppressor to my stock 20” PSA upper. I am shooting 123 gr. Hornady SST reloaded rounds at 2450 fps. Are there specific changes that need to be made with the suppressor installed? Different buffer configuration/weight or gas-flow adjustments? What indications should I watch for...

    AR-9 Stovepipe problem

New 8 oz. buffer - all is well. Feeds, fires, ejects reliably with no issues. Thanks for the suggestions.

    AR-9 Stovepipe problem

The 8.5 oz. buffer is on the way. Eventual plan is to suppress it - will have to see if there is a way to make the gas amount acceptable. Thanks for the input.

    AR-9 Stovepipe problem

Well - looks like a 2 oz. / 3” buffer is totally inappropriate for this application! Thanks for the input - working on getting this fixed ASAP It is a ‘Glock’ setup - only glitch so far / should be fully functional soon.

    AR-9 Stovepipe problem

Ejector is tight - no damage. My line of thought is - bolt is not moving far enough back and catching empty case as it moves forward (case doesn’t have time to clear bolt as it closes). It is a PSA upper / parts kit is generic AR-15 rifle parts.

    AR-9 Stovepipe problem

A 16” 9mm upper on a 80% build lower with a standard AR-15 parts kit. Feeding and firing work great - however, nearly every ejected round ‘stovepipes’ badly. Ammunition is 135 gr. RN / slightly supersonic but haven’t chronographed from this barrel. A). Do I need to change the buffer/spring...

    AR-15 Suppressor

Lots of good information - thank you. It sounds like some trial and error work so I expect to be asking more questions. I am planning to start with a .30 caliber can with the hope of it being usable on more than one gun. The AR’s were my first thought since they are already threaded but I have...

    AR-15 Suppressor

Starting on the path of adding suppressors to my rifles. Since my AR already has a threaded barrel it seemed logical to begin with it. However, it does not have an adjustable gas block and I have not made any alterations to it (PSA build - 5.56 / 1x7) - will a suppressor require significant...

    Speer 225 grain from .338-06

Thanks for all the comments and input. I started loading with IMR4320 first as it seems to be the ‘classic’ powder for this round. I was looking for RL-17 but haven’t gotten any yet. Other ‘usable’ powders I have tried are IMR4064, Varget, Sta-Ball and Superformance. The barrel is 24” and the...

    Speer 225 grain from .338-06

My rebarreled Marlin XL7 (.270 to Shaw .338-06) shows a preference for Speer 225 gr. BTSP bullets regardless of powder or velocity. I was working on new loads with Sta-Ball powder this morning and my ‘LH’ bench shooting gave a decent 4 shot group without actually trying very hard. I normally...

Excellent job - so enjoyable to watch. The hunt was great and the soap making process was fascinating - keep up the good work.
