Is this one of Oleg's pictures?
This is the new brochure that the DC Police put out since Heller came out informing residents on how to register their guns (revolvers only) in the district.

First page, upper right hand...
Thanks for the links mrmeval,
That REALLY cleared things up.
From those sites I get the following information:
308 Winchester gauges are as follows:
go:1.630
nogo:1.634
field:1.638
So I am using 308Win gauges to check headspacing.
From those same sites, the following are specs for 7.62...
Thanks Bwana John and everyone else also,
I've looked at my gauges again. I bought them from Brownells about 6 months back when I was tinkering with a FAL.
All 3 are labeled as follows with 4 lines.
"Forster"
"243-308"
"GO/NOGO/FIELD"
"1.630/1.634/1.638"
The second line tends to...
Thanks Crosshair,
I don't know why I didn't think to hold the trigger down when pushing the bolt close..:banghead:
So,... next observation.
Using the newly discovered old method of inserting the headspace guages :o , I notice the following.
The bold will close in the forward motion all the...
Well, the numbers I have are written (etched) onto the gauges themselves, so that's what I have to go by.
I guess the "gently" part is what I'm having trouble with. You have to put pressure to overcome the cocking mechanism.
So...If I had an "in spec" chamber should I be able to close...
Got one of those enfields from aim. (hand picked!!)
Was SOOOO excited when I got it!!!
Anyway,.... After cleaning off all of that paint/laquer, I decided to check the chamber with my gauges.
I am using the following forster gauges:
G0: 1.630
NOGO: 1.634
Field: 1.638
I could...
Another option would be to ask to see it again. Ask if you can field strip it.
While field stripping, take the offending part out, (probably the trigger group). Reassemble the weapon minus the offending part(as best as you can). And offer to pay the price for the weapon in full, while telling...
Stellar Rigs is listed on Kel-tec's website as a holster maker who's products fit their guns. After looking around for a while, I decided to give them a try. Here is my review.
I have 2 P-32's as seen below with my surefire e1e for size reference. I ordered both the A and C model from...
My preferences are:
size: 2oz
cap type: flip top
holster: none, I use a pocket
pattern: stream
Perhaps, but more importantly, you should consider additional units for spares. When you are forced to use one on an attacking dog (like i had to) it is nice to have another one and not have to wait...
This is a good bill, but it doesn't go to the same length that the "stand your ground" laws go. It only applies to your home/business/vehicle. If your out shopping somewhere, you still have the duty to retreat (defense of others aside).
It's better than nothing, but we need to go all the way.
Here's the way I understand it.
1.) Parts kit importers can still do their thing (as long as the barrels are intended to be used in a "sporting" arm)
2.) Home builders can still do their thing (if they can get the parts, and include the requisite number of US parts)
3.) Companies buying parts...
I have to give credit where credit is due. Although the ACLU and its sub-components do make a screw ball of a few things, they are taking a good stand on this one.
I hope they appeal it. (I'm sure they will)
From a practical point of view, they must also implement a plan for WHEN these units fail. (not if).
When implementing a high-tech solution such as this on such a mass scale, it is not possible to preclude failure 100%. There will be electronic failure of a small percentage of those devices...
hey,... you're preaching to the quoir buddy. I think they are all "sporting", but I just don't believe the ATF will.
Of course, I also don't think that they should have to be "sporting" to be in the country.
correct, it is then legal to use the barrel in an AMERICAN rifle, but to IMPORT that...
Is the your sten capable of being imported into the country?
Then no, it doesn't count as being sporting regardless of the reason that you put on your form 4.
Don't get me wrong, I don't agree with this whole god aweful mess of a law, but I don't think your rationale would fly.
I'll be...
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the WASR-10 (ak-barrel) a "sporting arm".
I think you are correct about the sten and suomi though. There are no sporting equivalents that I know of.
