I have discovered an M1 Garand in very good condition of WW2 vintage. It was in the closet at the American Legion I belong to and has been buried with it's brother in a corner for 17 years untouched.
However, in all my years of gunsmithing I have never seen one fixed like this...

I'll try Brownells techs. I didnt' think they would have any advise on older guns and would be tied up all day answering questions on modern miltary type guns...

I actually have Colt Parts filling an order for the sear springs and screws but they have worse pics than my books. I'm hoping someone out...
You mention this was a brand new barrel. Did you thoroughly clean it before firing the first rounds and what sort of breakin procedure are you following ?
