I bought a youth/compact 20 gauge last May. Your SN is very close to mine. I had a mag tube extender added to mine, and I really like this SG. Very accurate. Don't be surprised that you have issues with low brass not cycling .. especially with Winchester and Federal. I had to break mine in with...
For a SD gun it's better to have a 12" stock, easier to swing up hug and control muzzle tip no matter how big you are. I have a Bantam 12" on one 500 20 ga. and a 12" Hogue on my 590 12 ga. What a difference these shorter stocks make from a 14".
Wrong about that. Some of the top trainers in the Country teach shotgun for defensive shooting and can run them as effectively as an AR15. Google & You Tube Magpul.
I haven't posted much on this forum, but when I did to seek information and help .. Dave was the first to respond giving excellent advice. My deepest sympathies to his family.
Light load shells (Winchester) won't eject from my Rem 11-87. I was having issues with Federal 7/8 until I put about 50 rnds of Remington and slugs through the gun shortly after I bought it. The Federal cycles just fine now, but I won't bother with the Winchester. As for the pump SG's I have...
I have a Mossberg 500 20 gauge set up with a Bantam stock, 18.5" barrel and a Raven modular shell system. It's lightweight and simple. Something for you guys to think about .. if you have a wife or a GF that may have to use it, might want to go 20 gauge instead of 12 for 42% less recoil and...
Seriously? I happen to be thin, and the friends that I have who own the Shield are built the same way. I have also owned the M&P9c for more than two year, but the Shield really does conceal better on us skinny people and know this from personal experience.
I just love how people state...
One handed racking, off your clothes, for clearing malfunctions quickly .. A lot easier for me to grip the slide for racking back. I have weak wrists/fingers and this takes the slippage out of it. Now the other guys who get their gun serrated through Doug do it because they train hard with a...
JDGray .. I have the Shield 9 which got the first trigger job by ATEi Doug Holloway. It sports a 4 lb trigger, less creep and over travel and a definite audible and felt reset. It's back at Doug's shop last week getting full serrations and I am waiting to hear back to pick it up after finishing...
I called Mossberg about a synthetic youth stock for my 20 gauge. What I got was a choice between the Bantam 12" LOP and the Youth 13" LOP with the additional 1" on the recoil/ butt pad. I opted for the Bantam 12". I really like the *Shooters Friend Recoil Pad* that can be bought amazon.com or...
