What to do with this ammo?

Generally swede ammo is berdan primed and is non corrosive. The headstamp 070 was a code for noma brass made in 1976 for the 6.5X55 ammo(pryke) that I have. That seems like good pistol brass. It could be a lesser quality also, but I doubt it. Way too much work to pull down

gwpercle,I here you. Info was hard to find for this kid of the fifties and sixties. My first thirty caliber was Russian. Second was a garand. Third was a thirty caliber Swiss. I've been a K11 newbie since 1969. Yea any 30 caliber will work. Be safe. Work up. A chrono is helpful

    Swiss K31 7.5 X 55 .306" bullet seating diameter vs Lee 7.5x55 seating die .308"

It took a while to get this from my lost info stack and it also took awhile(3 yrs) to get responses from the Swiss Embassy in 1992. Anybody measuring their bullet diameters with calipers or mics? If every one is safe and working up you can use just about any bullet diameter. And the same for...

    Swiss K31 7.5 X 55 .306" bullet seating diameter vs Lee 7.5x55 seating die .308"

most "308" projectiles are close to .3085" in diameter. I'll try to find my letter from WFBern about recommending .3085" projectiles in the 7.5 swiss rifles as the correct bullet diameter. I've shown it more than once at SwissRifles.com in past postings.Best

    Swiss K31 7.5 X 55 .306" bullet seating diameter vs Lee 7.5x55 seating die .308"

Gert, I don't think you are measuring a pulled bullet. Anybody measuring .306" is measuring outside of the gp11 brass case. The largest diameter of the bullet is inside of the case. Most find .3075" bullet diameters for gp11. And the Swiss do recommend using .3085" diameter bullets for...

Primer pockets - how loose is too loose?

If you just got to use the cases over again, well then .217 berdan pockets can be tightened up enough so that regular ,210 boxer fit nicely in Swede or Swiss cases or other hard to find berdan ammo. Tightening up boxers should be a cake walk. BestAll

    Stupidly expensive Turkey loads

For FL hunters, your limit is two spring gobblers. Centerfire rifles not allowed. Fall archery either sex. GeoDudeFL I'm guessing that you're not from FL. Someone earlier said that "he'd heard that wild turkey didn't taste that good", yea right, and back strap is the worst too. I say, it's...

    308 history

The earliest high power shooting a 308 is the Swiss M1911 rifle shooting a 174 grain projectile in 7.5X55 around 1911 at 26650fps. The US, NATO, and Winchester are later comers and maybe improvers of more pressure and a shorter case in 308. With ammo that was designed in 1908 and brought into...

lehigh defense extreme defender for the pocket gun

I've found that both factory Lehigh's XD65grn and XP90grn to have coal's of .955". I'm using a .952" coal for reloads. My Extreme Defender rounds use a 65grain bullet. I was impressed with the x cut into the targets with the ED bullets but I was more impressed with the even larger X cut into the...

    When was ammo cheapest?

Probably in 1959 when I had a Sears truck make a home devilery of my sporterized M/N rifle with 100 rounds for less than $10, with Momma's permission of course. A hundred rounds of mil ammo from Sear's cost $3 and a bottle of Coke was a nickel.. Just remember that these are the good old days..
