I want to say thanks to all who advised me to buy the Sig 228. Even though old arthritis has got me by the knuckles, the Sig is still a pistol I can shoot very well. Thanks gentlemen!
PS-Yes, the Hogue grips went right on, first thing.
Thank you! C&S looks good. I used to be fairly good with small parts but since I lost feeling in my hand and have arthritis I'd rather leave it to a pro.
Can someone recommend a good gunsmith where I can send my Mk III for a mild custom job, like a trigger job and removing the mag disconnect. That's one "feature" I hate. Since my other autos have no magazine disconnect, I want my HP the same way. The trigger pull is a might stiff.
I am amazed how many think that Bauer is a good gun. I bought one in the 70's and it was the worst gun I ever owned. It would jam every 4th round or so. The only thing worse was the AMT Backup .380 which nearly got me killed due to the safety lever breaking (3 times). I dumped them both.:cuss:

Those were great pictures, Lonestar! I think the Hogue grips are going to be on mine as soon as I can get some. This gun I'm getting comes with the factory night sights. I never thought about the subsonic load before. I always thought 115 grain HP's would be the way to. I'll try a box and see...
Thanks for the responses! Good stuff all. In case you wonder why the heck I'd buy a gun without knowing about it, I DID do some research here and on other sites. The size seemed about right, the weight is good, enough rounds and if it works for the many elite military and police units I read...
I have a Beretta 92 9mm which I can shoot fairly well, but it is BIG and it is HEAVY. I decided on an FNP 9mm some months back, but I can't hit ANYTHING with it. :banghead: Now, the gun shop clerk who shoots practical pistol matches test fired it and had no problem hitting the bullseye, so I...
