I'm looking for opinions on the best replica M1 paratrooper stock, in both quality construction and original configuration. Too many out there and only pictures to go by.

We just acquired a new 452 youth for our rifle club's junior program. What a great littleun. Has a sigle shot adapter and a 5-round magazine. The wood and metal are superb, and therigger pull is relatively light and crisp. Now let's see how it holds up.

All - I was recenlty given an Eotech for my flat top Bushmaster and would like to add a flip up rear sight.
Any recommendations? So many choices our there!

I have an early 40's Lyman Alaskan that needs some TLC. Optics are clear, but the scope body finish is very worn. I've tried Oxpho Blue with no success. Is the Alaskan tube made of aluminum?

I'm building a Mauser sporter and am interested in a scout scope mount and optics. It's a K98 action. I like this type of set up as I won't need to permanently modify my Mauser rifle. I'm just dropping the action into an aftermarket stock.
Any feedback on this or similar mount? While...
I'd like to coat my old Remington 742 with Brownell's Allumihide II and need to separate the barrel from the receiver. Any advice on how to do this would be greatly appreciated.

All - I have a relatively old Marlin 336, so it's past a warranty return for the problem at hand. I went to mount a weaver scope base and found that the mounting screws protrude far enough into the receiver that they impact the bolt, not letting me cycle the action.
My solution was to mount...
I once again (after 10 years) have the black powder illness and am getting my shop set up to build a flinter. Show me your work and share your experiences please!
Thanks

I've ordered some Oxpho Blue to re-do the receiver on my Remington 742 Woodsmaster. Some time ago I had a recoil pad installed so I can't get to the screw to remove the stock.
Since I'm doing the entire receiver, it's likely that some of the bluing will contact the wood. I plan on taping...
I'm looking for a new rifle that will stand up to adverse conditions. Remington's new offering looks good on paper, but I'm looking for first hand opinions.

Last weekend the Winchester Canyon Gun Club in Santa Barbara County CA sponsored our first "official" CMP youth event. We've held numerous practive events without scoring over the past few months but this time it was a timed, scored event. Five kids participated aging from 9-12 years old...
I'm sad and angry to report that last night the Winchester Canyon Gun Club was robbed. We're located in Santa Barbara, CA. The perpetrators apparently hitched a chain to a 4WD and tore out a security door to the club house. They got four shotguns and some ammo, and also trashed the club house...
I just picked up Weaver scope mount model 63-B this weekend and installed it on my Marlin 336. After tightenting down the screws, I realized that they had extended far enough to bind against the bolt. I took the mount back to the store and it seems the screws in all the 63-B packages are the...
Guys (gals) - I'm going on my first hog hunt this March and want to work up an effective .270 bullet/powder load. I'm also new to reloading, but will be assisted by an old pro in that regard. However, he's not a hunter.
The hogs we'll be hunting will be between 150-190 pounds and based on...
My new Ruger single six has an enormous amount of lead built up around the barrel throat that I can't remove. I've tried all the regular potions, even soaking that part of the frame overnight in Hoppe's #9. Any suggestions short of Tannerite?
Thx

I'm about to really apply some torque to the receiver extension on my bushmaster lower to remove it. It was screwed in at the factory without grease and is realy stuck. I have the receiver clamped in a vice using one of the hard rubber inserts into the mag well, and I've applied Kroil liberally...
A few months back I posted that I was dissatisfied with my new Colt SAA and had to return it numerous times to teh factory for service. The issue was poor bluing on the cyliner and barrel. Colt kept trying to reblue the parts and each time they came back they were worse.
When I returned it...
