    Starling Shooting

Starlings are constantly building nests around the farm. If a tractor sits for a day or two....when you start it up, it poops a big wad of hay out the exhaust pipe. :fire: If you turn on an auger, it poops out a wad of hay into your truck bed. When you open a big sliding door on the...

    Starling Shooting

We had cattle up until I graduated high school. We had cow/calf and fed the calves to market. We always had creep feeders and the starlings would help themselves to the free smorgasbord. They made a mess of the feeders and the water tank. My dad taught me to take a shotgun and Crack...

I'm pretty sure Texas is a rifle state.....but not certain. I would even like to use my flintlock. 45

Today I enjoyed the outdoors. I chose to carry......

Well thennnn .....here's a teaser from this morning. A turkey hunt on our northern farm. I don't know what the concrete tank is? Water trough? Still? We have only rented this property for four years...this is part of the non-tillable land. Some of it is pretty rough. We didn't get a shot but...

310 yards, Ruger American Ranch 6.5 grendel

Mine is in x39 but it's a shooter, even with cheap ammo. I never tried 300yds though. Good shooting!

Alright, what do you all think 1911 decision?

My 1911 is a Ruger SR 1911CMD I am very pleased with it. I am looking for a more compact carry option. I really like the S/A Ronin

Center Hold Vs 6 O’clock Hold

I like o'clock on my handguns and my flintlock. If the irons are fine enough, I will use center hold.

Today I enjoyed the outdoors. I chose to carry......

Not much news in my favorite thread!?! You guys need to step up your woods bumming and hiking! I'm not much help either....we're still trying to get rolling with our spring planting but little April showers keep things dampened down. Just about the time we can work....another front rolls...

    On the belt

My father in law carries a s&w Bodyguard in a Sneaky Pete. He is a Navy vet and doesn't care if anyone recognizes that he is carrying. It looks like a leather box on his belt, but he likes it.....so, whatever. I much prefer an iwb holster.

I took my 3" kframe s&w for an atv ride back to the creek. Two crappie(very unusual) and a sunfish on my ultralight. And my s&w went along for the ride

    2024 Turkey Season Firearms/Bows?

I have two shotguns that I use regularly. The Remington 870 Supermag 3½" with .690 extended tube kills on one and and wounds on the other! It wears a claw no slip sling and a four shell ammo carrier velcro fastened to the butt. This faithful gun is on its second barrel because #1 son...

Opinions on the perfect nightstand handgun.

As long as we're "just talking" here....how about this: What about broadening the category of nightstand gun to include wilderness sidearm? Or vice-versa? ( I am looking for an excuse to dip my toe into the 10mm pool.) A double duty 10mm glock 20 or SA XD with high cap magazine, light...

Opinions on the perfect nightstand handgun.

I am leaning more towards your edc gun being your everything handgun. Mine is a high cap 9mm compact.

    Finally in the club!

Congrats. It certainly will be convenient. Hopefully you'll get more trigger time. It takes work to keep a club alive.
