    CCW stop

Absolutely. And even if they don't ask, or if you refuse and they conduct a search anyway, on the side of the road at 2am really isn't the best place to debate probable cause with the local PD. Clearly state "I do not consent to a search" loudly enough to be sure it's picked up by the dash cam...

    CCW stop

Been there. I was a teenager at the time, and it was a blatant fishing expedition on the part of my local PD. I was asked to exit the vehicle, and I complied. They asked if they could search my vehicle, I politely refused. Then they said that if I wouldn't consent to a search, they would detain...

How many magazines do you like to have for a given gun? Why?

    5-10 minimum. After that, more.

Guns you would buy that will never be made

SBR, 300 BLK, side folding or telescoping stock, ability to fire in folded position, approx. 18" OAL, provisions for mounting modern optics & other accessories, reliable operation with sub/supersonic ammo in un/suppressed configuration. First reputable manufacturer to bring it to market gets my...

    New Ones

I almost bought a Manix 2 XL for EDC, but I prefer tip down carry. Went with the Spyderco Military instead. R

    Pelican Gun Cases?

I used chalk to trace my gear and an electric carving knife to make the cuts. Works fairly well if you have a steady hand, though I'm sure there are better ways. R

    Pelican Gun Cases?

I have a 1750. Big, heavy, awkward, unweildy, indestructable. It was absolutely worth the money; this case will probably outlive me. On the other hand, it's not very practical for everyday use. I would use it if I ever had to fly with my rifle (hasn't happened yet, but you never know), but I...

Santa Monica shooter "made" his gun!

Well, this helps to explain the black powder revolver, anyway. R

    Surefire Sonic Defenders

This is how I often use mine as well. They are fine by themselves in some situations (shooting .22 or .223 outdoors from a 16" barrel), but they really work great under good muffs. R

    Cool little M&P 22 AR!

I need one of these. I already have a few mags, purchased last year, and a TRS-25 on a UTG mount just waiting for the rifle. Mine will have a threaded barrel though. There is definitely a Sparrow in my future. R

Drilling a hole in a safe for power

We have a raised floor at work. The floor tiles are two layers of 12 gauge steel filled with about 1" of concrete (don't ask). I can go through them with a 2" bimetal holesaw and an 18v cordless drill in about 30 seconds. A standard RSC would probably be even easier. R

ANother gun buy back, with a twist

I have quite a bit of scrap lumber (1/2" and 3/4" MDF, mostly) and a jigsaw in my garage. If lived in this school district, I would happily send my child to school with a backpack full of functional rubberband guns. R

    Just Curious..Sounds Silly But...

A year ago: You could buy cases of 9mm FMJ for less than $0.20 / round, shipped directly to your door. You could buy cases of Black Hills .223 factory seconds for less than $0.35 / round, shipped directly to your door. You could assemble an AR15 in any configuration, in the caliber of...

$300 and no gun at all, but...

    Makarov 9x18, or possibly a used S&W 642 if I could find one under $300. R

You get 1k to buy a firearm. What would be going home with you?

RMR my G17, get a decent holster for it, and maybe pick up a threaded barrel if I have enough left over. Otherwise, spend the rest on ammo. R

    All-purpose, high-quality belt

I've been wearing a Crossbreed 1 1/2" leather belt for a few years. Good belt. I also have a couple Wilderness 5 stitch Instructors belts. They work pretty well too, but I prefer leather. R

Do you try and catch a dropped gun?

I've done that for years, with all kinds of things. Reflex from playing a ton of hackysack in HS/college. I did it once with a knife without thinking about it. I happened to be wearing sandals at the time. Let's just say that you won't make that mistake twice (fortunately it was just a small...

    Blow Up A Gun... Experience?

My dad had an el cheapo .22 revolver disintegrate in his hand. I was standing about 10' back and to his left at the time and watched it happen. Near as we could tell, the timing was off so bad that the round impacted the frame. Kaboom. No injuries though. R
