Wondering if anyone can shed some light on this. My friend (FFL) was told by the ATF that he cannot legally setup at an out-of-State event (such as a gun show) and sell firearms (even long guns). They even told him he can't setup and just transfer the firearm through an in-state FFL at the show...
I am involved with a lot of gun shows and I tell people (truthfully in my opinion) that about 70% of the stuff is overpriced, 20% is a fair price and 10% is a really good deal, but those good deals go fast and are spread out over people's individual tastes. Bring cash if you can (many don't take...
One thing I do while shooting is in between shooting I keep the action locked open so you get kind of a stove pipe effect and cool air flows through the action/barrel/suppressor. So I'll shoot 5 rounds or half a mag and then leave it open while I'm shooting something else or talking with...
Should have mentioned, it gets quieter with longer barrels too so on a 16" barrel it should be even better, haven't tired it on any of mine yet. 10.5" is the shortest they recommend on a 5.56 barrel (for the Turbo K).
I have the Turbo K and love it. I put it on my 10.5" AR-15 and was surprised at how quiet it was. For shooting standard .223 rounds I could comfortably shoot it without hearing protection. When I shot my .30 cal suppressor of a different brand on that same AR it was considerably louder. I had...
Part of a requirement of an AOW is that the gun in question is 26" or LESS in OAL so even if you conceal your 'other' that is over 26" that shouldn't change the definition of the gun or am I remembering that incorrectly?
Yeah just focus on other projects and it'll be a nice surprise when it comes through.
Back during the 41F rule change awhile back I waited 14 months for my two suppressors. Is what it is. Time is going to pass either way, might as well give future-you a cool new toy.
A friend of mine years back did not even put the suppressor he bought on his Schedule A or an assignment of property until AFTER the form 4 was approved, I do it in advance because the property belongs to the Trust when I file. But point is both of us got multiple items approved that way. My...
Since handguns have to be bought in your own State I don't think you'd be able to drop it off at a gun shop in Maine and be able to do the 4473 to pick it back up. You could drop it off and pay them to mail it back to your local NY gun shop and do the paperwork to get it back there. Seems like a...
While I don't think they will notice either way, I always do because technically it's part of the Trust. My assignment of properties are just scanned in behind my Schedule A and they are a single document (as far uploading to ATF).
That's great. Like I said, for us locally, Silencershop's wait times has been consistent with what we're seeing. Just another option for folks to look at.
Silencershop also keeps an updated list of wait times based on their customers recent approvals. I think their reported 155 days on e-file form 4's is more in line with what we're seeing locally than the ATF's claim of 100 days.

Thanks so much Steve. I'll certainly read through the link you posted and determine if it's something I want to do myself or not. Your reply was very clear information, it's much appreciated.
