    Groups, Accuracy, and Statistics

This is an excellent 3-part series that discusses statistics for shooting. I highly recommend reading all three parts. https://precisionrifleblog.com/2020/11/29/statistics-for-shooters/

    AMP Annealing Machine

Fellow Handloaders, For those of you who purchased an AMP machine, 1.) does it do the job well? 2.) do you have any buyer’s remorse? 3.) would you buy it again? If no, then why not? 4.) if you decided to sell your AMP, then what would you use instead? Thanks for your time and consideration...

Removing melted Annealeez wheel from brass

Good question, actually. This was the first time I annealed 7.62x39, but I have annealed before. I was using the same visual endpoint for the 7.62x39 that I employ for .308 or .223. Back to the annealer, I was using the short wheels, but the distance between the neck and the wheels is still not...

    Long Range Rifle/Scope/PRS question(s)

Very clean! So here’s a question, @Walkalong For your competition rifles what is your approach to cleaning? What do you use and how do you do it?

    Long Range Rifle/Scope/PRS question(s)

Thank-you very much for taking all of us on an adventure. I appreciate all the information and experience related in this thread. In addition to the myriad of rifle, scope and ring choices, I have learned we need to consider range finders, spotting scopes, hand-held weather stations, bipods...

"Scope bite" ... when was the last time?

I purchased a brand new Kimber 84M .308Win, and I dressed it up with a Leupold fixed 6x. Super light. Shooting it for the first time I loaded three rounds of 165gr Hndy SST over 45gr of Varget. To say I was surprised with the recoil was an understatement. “Why is there a cut on your...

Looking for real world experiences with light .223 in AR

I’m interested in this as well. It would be fun to have a small game load approximating the 22 Hornet that will also cycle the AR’s action.

.38 Special and A#5: Case looks empty

I’ve been reloading rifle cartridges for a decade, but this is my first go at reloading pistol cartridges. Compared to rifle cartridges, the 7.5gr charge I am throwing seems to result in a case that looks somewhat—how should I say this—wanting, unimpressive, lacking,... empty? Please give me...

    Packable Mountain Rifle

Every ounce matters when you are on a spot and stalk hunt in the mountains. The way you carry that weight also matters! My setup works for me when I head out west. Kimber 84M with a muzzle break in .308Win. Eberlestock backpack with integrated rifle scabbard.

Best caliber for small game hunting?

If you hand load, then I think .223 in a bolt action rifle is a good choice. You can load it hot for coyotes, and you can load it light for squirrel. It is a very versatile cartridge.

    Turret presses ???

Experiences? I really like my T7. Brass resizing and bullet seating are both precise and accurate. I’m at about 8,000 rounds with my press, and I observe little to no variation in the measurements of my finished cartridges. I’m much more efficient with the T7 as compared to the single stage...

    Long Range Hunting Bullets

Like Nature Boy has written, anything in the 150-180gr range will work very well. Where my experience with specific bullets in .308win is concerned, I only have experience with Hornady SST and Sierra Game King bullets. Both have anchored hogs and deer without fail. For consistent accuracy out...
