What's your preferred every day carry?

03/1994-07/2021 S&W 6906. 07/2021-now CZ P07. I do have J frame .38/357's and do carry one on occasion but "statistically" about never. Joe

Heading to the range today with what used to be "cheap" guns.

I sold the last of these during the '94-'04 AWB for $500. The FFL dropped it on his table for $600 and it was gone before I walked away. Joe

Any firearm can be used self-defense in a pinch. Do you agree?

I have an H&R 88 SS 12 ga. It would make a mess of an intruder. Have a couple extra cartridges between the fingers of the off hand and you can reload in about a second with practice. Joe

Opinions on a WESTERN style 45 Long Colt Six-Shooter Please

I have only one S/A .45 "convertible." I guess a blue version would be more authentic. Joe

    Anyone try Sterling 7.62x39?

Up until very recently this ammo was $10/box. 50% increase unfortunately, worth it if'n I had an AK. Joe https://www.targetsportsusa.com/prvi-partizan-762-39mm-ammo-123-grain-fmj-pp739f-p-113046.aspx

    Whittaker Guns closed

“a complaint from an adjoining landowner” and “a zoning issued from a Conditional Use Permit issued by the Owensboro Metropolitan Planning Commission in 1994.” Almost the exact reason I lost my 01 FFL almost 30 years ago (1995). I did not get the "conditional use permit" even though I thought...

    M629-2 $975 (ouch)

I shoot it and this 629-3 a couple times a year, maybe 100-150 rds. I don't reload and the .44's just about require it these days. Joe

    M629-2 $975 (ouch)

DD, I have 11 further up in the series, #355. Small world, excellent guns. Joe

Have you purchased anything gun related in the last three days?

Should be here tomorrow. This is the best price I've gotten .308 for in awhile. Joe TSMT762A - MT762A MagTech 7.62x51mm Ammo M80 Ball 147...

    What did you shoot today?

Nothing special: 2nd gen Glock 17, S&W Model 17-3 (makes me look like I can shoot pretty well) and 2nd outing for KelTec P 17 that i am trying to like. In all fairness the KelTec caught an empty on the way out twice, same rate as either of my Ruger MKII's, due to insufficient powder charges in...

Caliber of the day......223 (2/23/24) picture thread.

Put this one together a few years back, a little over $400 all in (scope was old Korean made Sportview). Joe

    Just got my NRA ballot

At least vote for all the women.. Sounds stupid but they need to be represented to attract other women, who are 50% of the population. Sorry for the sexist remark but I am only able to recognize 2 genders at this time. Joe

If you could have only one pistol?

CZ 75, 15+ mags in 9mm and a Kadet upper for practice. Joe

    Knife or Gun?

Almost a good idea. If'n they designed it for .22lr it might be a handy survival tool. Joe

Ready For My CCL Renewal Class

I'll renew mine tomorrow. Don't need to but it does have 1988 as the original issue year so it makes sense. They don't want proof of anything, just a check for $45 and an ugly pic they'll take. Joe

Don't "Cotton" to the Old Guard

Up until recently the NRA has been the "whipping boy" for the gun haters. Must be doing something right. My carry permit says 1988 for original issue. NRA helped push for it. I used to give them money every year, now I go up a level of "life" usually each "important" election cycle, like...

What is the last gun that you bought?

I got $189 back from my previous health ins co. PSA had the KelTec P17 for $179 so I figured free gun. Not quite $179 +18 shipping, 14.50 tax and $35 FOR ffl fee (Just raised from $30+ $5 bgc split out because of denials) for a total of $252. I'm out $63, if it works, worth it. No pic...

No more gun shows for me

Last Saturday it was $15 to get in. The real gripe was $35 for 2 order of "fries with chiknuggets" in. Tasted like dog treats. We'll keep going, eating lunch elsewhere. MagTech 9mm was $239/1K, if'n you needed it. Joe

Have you guys seen CCI's new jacketed 22LR? Uppercut 22 Long Rifle 32 Grain

Are you stocked up for 2024

I've been "stocking up" since Reagan left office. This year is no different than any other in my lifetime. As the late, great Jim Morrison opined: "The future's uncertain and the end is always near." Let it roll, baby, indeed. Joe
