For about four years I used a 3" GP-100 as my IDPA gun shooting +P+ level .38 specials. As long as you keep the chambers clean no problem. I have put more of those loads thru that gun than some people will shoot in a lifetime. Chambers are as slick as the day I bought it.

CDNN had 2" 64 trade-ins from California Dept of Corrections back awhile ago. I got one for $249 if I remember correctly. It was cosmetically challenged but shoots just fine.

I used to do the match-lighting thing with my BB gun. I'd drop one of those large light-anywhere kitchen matches down the barrel, head out, and fire against a hard surface. Presto! instant fire.

No reason to have a .38 special when you can have a .357 MAGNUM! ;) I only have a couple of K-frame .38's, two model 10's (2" and 3" barrel) two model 64's ( 2" and 3" barrel). Was looking at a really nice 4" Model 15 but somebody beat me to it. Plan on getting a nice 4" pencil barrel Model 10...

My wife has tried numerous autoloaders over the past couple of years and won't have anything to do with any of them. Her S&W 3" model 13 is the only gun she will shoot. And she shoots it pretty well. Not fast but well.

Actually there was member input. Several months ago there was a request for the membership to make suggestions to their area coordinators. I know several people who suggested the new ESR division. It looks like they took those suggestions to heart.

One or two or three of the several revolvers I own. Some times just to remind me why I like the wheelgun best I'll carry a bottomfeeder, but I always go back to the revolver.

It's just a matter of what you want to get out of IDPA. I started competing because I wanted to get better with my carry gun. I come to the range and take out my carry ammo and put my carry gun back in my carry holster and go shoot.

I have always felt that the 3" Ruger GP-100 was about the best balance of size, weight and power. The smaller grip fits my hand well, it's an easy size gun for me to carry and you can shoot magnums in it all day without getting beat-up. I like the short-barreled K-frame Smith's but don't find...

Anything Jerry Miculek says about shooting a double-action revolver I will listen to with respect. Due to the fact that everybody is different what works for him may not work for me. I shoot with a more traditional grip, first joint of the finger on the trigger, because I shoot a heavy trigger...

3" Ruger GP-100 in a FIST #12 basic on a Dillon 1-1/4" belt with a Ruger SP-101 in an Uncle Mikes pocket holster, everyday, all day.

If I'm awake I'm carrying. Luckily for me I work at an enlightened place and half the guys there carry at work. :)

I have been shooting IDPA regularly for about 6 years and have shot with several different clubs. I like to shoot revolver (3" GP-100). Different clubs seem to like different guns but Glocks and 1911's will always be well represented.

I have carried a 2-1/4" DAO SP-101 in an Uncle Mikes pocket holster for years. Not a problem for me.

Sorry I can't post a pic 'cause I no longer have the gun (one of the few I regret selling). Just before the GP-100's came out I had a heavy barrel Security-Six. Really nice gun. I thought that the GP would be even better so I sold the SS and bought a GP. Really wish I had the Security-Six now.

For ME a Ruger GP-100 with a 3" barrel because it fits me and I shoot it best. For YOU whatever fits you.
