i favor the 500 for three reasons. 1. wider ejection port for combat loading 2. 500's don't have that loaing gate so if a cartridge popps out of the mag tube it can be cleared much faster(or depending on the position of the action bar it just hit's the deck) . 3. 500's just feel more robust.
