    Revolver #100

That's a beaut. Now if the serial number of the gun ends in 100, maybe you should go buy a few lottery tickets. ;)

    Tex Shoemaker Competition rig

As I mentioned before, my friend used to do some competition shooting back in the day, This is the gun that came with the holster... ... and the belt is marked 36". So it will be going on eBay. I understand that revolver rigs might not be everyone's cup-o-tea, but there might be additional...

    Tex Shoemaker Competition rig

A friend of mine that used to do competition shooting years ago sold me one of his revolvers and holster rig. While I can use the revolver, I have no need for the holster. I tried looking up the values of these rigs on line, and they're all over the place, and this is why I'm trying to find...

Presentation colt revolvers from Col Colt 1836 - 1862

I know this is a revolver thread, but since we're talking about highly embellished guns, you could also check out the Krieghoff presentation Lugers Here: https://phoenixinvestmentarms.com/1215HKGaul.htm And the gold plated one they made for Hermann Goering, here...

Weird CCW: short barreled single action.

I was talking about home invasions, not outdoor shootouts. How many shots would you shoot inside your own home? I doubt you would need to use more than 2-3 shots unless your home was being invaded by a horde. Most breaking and entering is done by 2 bit thieves, thinking there's no one at...

Sheesh... It's comments like these that make me thankful I live in a slightly more sedate part of the country.

Weird CCW: short barreled single action.

After reading most of this thread, you'd think we still lived in the Wild West (as depicted by Hollywood). I think the most likely scenario any of us would have that would involve any kind of shooting would be a home invasion. That encounter is likely to last less than 10 seconds, involve no...

Weird CCW: short barreled single action.

I had weighed some of my guns a while ago, and have a little spreadsheet with some of this information, and I looked at it again today, and I have 38.9oz listed, which is similar to what I have listed for my Uberti Cattleman .357 w/5.5" barrel, 39.8oz. So, I can only assume I transposed some...

Weird CCW: short barreled single action.

Been curious for a while. How much does your .357 Thunderball weigh? My .45 weighs just a pinch under 39oz, and I would think a.357 should weigh at least 3-4 more oz considering the smaller bores. I assume the size of all the components are the same, just smaller holes

    Uberti .357 competition Range report

I have an older EMF New Dakota made by Armi San Marco, that has a 2 stage safety base pin that has a tendency of working itself out, but it never made the trigger "feel wonky". Depending on how far it comes out (and it has to be out quite a bit), your cylinder would eventually not rotate fully...

anyone had any luck removing rust from a nickeled sixgun

Correct, new pennies are only copper plated over zinc. I have a bunch of 1960's pennies and I used one of those. The link I posted describes this and the procedure in detail. One of the advantages of the penny is that it's flat and 'stiff", and you will end up with an even finish, as opposed...

anyone had any luck removing rust from a nickeled sixgun

I used the copper penny technique and I removed the rust. However, once the rust is gone, you have bare metal underneath, so depending on how large an area we're talking about it may need to be refinished. I've done this to my nickel plated model 57

    K/L frame square butt grips

Here is my idea for a nice grip that both fills space behind the trigger, is slimmer and less bulky than the S&W target grips and doesn't have finger grooves. Altamont Roper Style grips in olive wood

You mean you want one of these: Great little belly gun. I'm not so sure about CCW, but it doesn't matter to me since here in San Francisco, getting a CCW license is nearly impossible

Buying first Colt SAA (clone) - Cimarron vs Taylor's & Co

Yes, they're made by Pietta to Traditions' specs, with a transfer bar. But here is what I found funny. It's from their description: " All models have steel frames and are authentic reproductions." AUTHENTIC REPRODUCTIONS.... as opposed to fake reproductions, I suppose?

Would you trade a Glock 26 for a Colt Detective?

So you're moving out of California because of the gun laws?

Ruger MKIV's - Excellent Designed Handgun

Can you tell us where you found this barrel? I scoured the entire Volquartsen site, and I can't find ANY barrels for less than $400, much less $40.

    Smallest .45 auto?

Yeah, I don't think some of these would be pleasant to shoot. For me they fall into the novelty category. The smallest .45 I'm willing to handle and shoot regularly is my Kimber Ultra Carry II. Here it is next to it's twin brother. It plays the role of Danny DeVito, the Sig is Aaahnold :)

    What did I find?

when I first saw this, I looked at mine 1950 K38 and I couldn't see any pinning. But then I looked with a loupe, and you can clearly see the pins, but they are not rounded head like yours, or the one holding the barrel, on mine they have been ground flush with the barrel rib.
