    Knife ID?

A friend sent me these photos in hopes I can identify the maker of this assisted-opening knife he found. I'm not all that familar with folders & am casting myself on the mercy of THR's accumulated wisdom. He says this knife is about 7 inches long when open.

    Historical question?

I vaguely recall reading somewhere that on 5 May 1862, there were Mexican troops fighting alongside the French at Puebla. Is that true? A quick google serach didn't reveal anything confirming that. Inquiring mind wants to know.

    Kimber CDP & holsters

Is there enough difference between the contours of the slide of a standard 1911 and one of the Kimber CDP's that a CDP will fit too loosely in a holster made for a regular 1911? I'm thinking about holsters that are boned and primarily rely on the fit for retention.

    Hard decision coming up

Here's the deal: there was this guy at work whose armatures were wound too tight. A couple of months ago, he sent some vaguely threatening emails to everybody in the support department. Those were forwarded to the boss & nothing much happened. Well, he got fired this past Friday. I'd never...

    You just never know.....

There's this guy at work. He's in his mid-20's, city kid. He was raving about joining the FBI earlier this year and spends a lot of time playing the shoot-em-up computer games. On Monday, I went out at lunch and bought a LEO-only marked magazine. Why? Just because I could. Anyhow, I wandered...

    Call me silly

I'm going out at lunch to buy a LEO-Only marked mag. Owning 1911's means that I don't actually have a firearm that will take a LEO mag, but dang it, I'm making a statement.;)

    Yugo SKS bayonet droop

I got one of the SKS's from AIM a couple of weeks ago. I've just started the process of cleaning it up & noticed that the bayonet doesn't stay all the way in the stock groove when it is folded. The bayonet point actually clears the wood by a fraction of an inch. Is there something I can do to...

    Mosin 91/30 stock stamps

I finally got around to taking my 1943 91/30 apart for cleaning. After looking closely at the stock, I found stamped symbols all over it. A small "k" in at least three places, the Cyrillic character that looks like a backwards "R" a couple of times, and a square with a diagonal line. Do these...
