I have a 3953 which is DAO. Its thin, light, accurate and reliable. Its a my most frequent CCW gun.

Is it Really all about consistent MV?

In my experience velocity consistency is a more helpful gauge of accuracy for hand guns with their short ( relatively) stiff barrels than for rifles with their long more flexible barrels. Acuracy in rifles is much more about getting the bullet to exit at the same place in the barrel vibrations...

    Rock Chucker press

The rock chucker is the original single stage O frame reloading press that all the other makers have copied. You know what they say about the sincerest form of flattery! :D

    S&w 910s

I have a 3953 which differs in that it has an aluminum frame and is DAO but the size and caliber are quite similar. I really love mine and its my primary CCW gun. Its light and thin, accurate and reliable. What's not to like? The truth is 3rd generation Smith autos just don't get no...

    .22 Target Revolver

Taurus Tracker 22 revolver. Just a little cheaper but mine shoots great! The weight can be a problem because the 6.5" barrel with a full underlug gets pretty muzzle heavy especially compared to the ruger.

Should I buy the Dan Wesson VH8 .445 Super Magnum?

I own 3 Dan Wesson 44s ( 4", 8" and 10") and my friend has an old 445 6" with an aimpoint on that I have shot. They are great guns, the most accurate 44 revolvers I've shot. I haven't shot an FA but they are a bit pricey. If I found a good one here locally I could look at, I'd buy it in a...

How Do They Compare: Beretta 76 -vs- S&W 41

The Beretta 89 gold standard is a good comparison to a short barrel Model 41. Course the beretta only has an eight shot magazine and they cost $40 each while magazines for the 41 are much easier to get and cost less.

    Steyr M-A1

Their troubles are mostly self infilicted. They were out of the pistol making business when the glocks really started getting popular. They bought the new pistol design by the designer of the glock. They added some manufacturing know how and came out with the M series pistols. They were...

    S&W 617...worth the price?

I wouldn't spend the money for a new one but used 617 are cheaper and really I've seen very few that looked like they were used all that much. The Taurus 920 Tracker 22 is about the same size but only comes with a 6.5" barrel so If you want a 4" its out. Dan Wesson 22 revolvers in stainless...

    Steyr M-A1

Those of us that own and love our steyrs have very mixed feelings about telling others. On the one hand we would like more people to see what nice guns they are. On the other hand we don't what to raise the demand to the point we would have to pay GLOCK PRICES ( or HK Prices :what:) for our...

.357 load for Berry's plated 125 grain bullets?

Plated bullets because the plating is so thin should be loaded at velocities between jacketed and lead bullets. Most would start closer to lead bullet velocities. The copper jacket in jacketed bullets is much thicker at the base which helps keep the base of the bullet from distorting too much...

    dan wesson advice

I think that might be a touch high priced but if the condition is really good then I would certainly consider it. I like the Dan Wesson a lot too. I have 6 of them at present and am always on the lookout for more. I have an early pistol pak with a 2", 4", and 6" 357 Magnum, a 10" 44 magnum...

    What's a good deal in 38/357 used, under $300?

I agree with the posters that say $300 357 magnums are out there but they are not as common as they were even a year ago. Buying used revolvers at a good price is a matter of being in the right gun shop at the right time with the money. My list of guns to consider: Ruger Security six usually...

    Good price for a SW2206?

I just bought a 2206 with adjustable rear sight about six months ago and paid $250 for it with the box and papers but I think that was an exceptional deal. My guess is $300 would be a fair price if its in excellent condition. I've been very happy with mine, it shoots reliably and accurately...

    Steyr M-A1

Thad congratulations! I have 5 ( M9, M357, S40, M40, M40-A1 ) They are great guns. My favorites are the new M40-A1 and my S40. Its too bad that Steyr has had so much trouble with their marketing and distribution. It has really kept a good gun from finding its market. :banghead:

    Hi Point C9 Owners

Mine has been reliable and surprisingly accurate especially considering the trigger is is a bit rough. I would carry it except I don't really like the safety, so I'm not sure I would carry cocked and locked. Besides I have plenty of other guns I like to carry better, including but not limited...

    tc pistol- what cal.?

I don't know about muzzle flash from a 12". I have a 10" octagon barrel in 223 and muzzle flash with factory ammo is pretty impressive. I hand load with faster powder for the 10 inch barrel. I also have one in 14" and the muzzle flash from that barrel is not bad, really not much different...

    .22 rimfire target gun

They are all nice guns and I don't believe you can go wrong with any of them but: The ruger mk II and mk III are prettier especially in stainless. I've never cared for the grip angle but I just got a Hogue grip and that helps alot. The magazines are the hardest for me to load and the...

Can you shoot anything else out of a .44 magnum?

I once shot 41 Mag ammo in my 44 mag revolver. :o Of course the cases split and the accuracy was horrible. :what: But on the good side the recoil and muzzle blast were very tame. :neener:
