Rem 700 Bottom Metal and Mags

I used the Magpul bottom "metal" setup on my R700 with the Hogue stock. I had to dremel out the stock a bit to make it fit (I knew I would) but it works like champ. Had another buddy do the same on his rifle (similar to mine) and he claims it feeds better than the factory blind magazine setup.

    Doctor's Inquiry Re Gun Ownership

I cut myself pretty bad at work about a year ago. I went to the local clinic with my Maxpedition man purse, in which I was carrying my Glock 23. I sat in the truck for a minute (bleeding) and removed the pistol and stored it in my truck to go get fixed up. I was not sure how anyone in the clinic...

    Packable cleaning kit for hunting

Check out the Otis cleaning kits. I have the MSR kit, and while that one might not be exactly what you need they probably make different versions. Very lightweight and extremely packable. About the size of two hockey pucks stacked together.

The "best" shot you've ever taken?

I have a couple that come to mind. A head shot on a gopher at 125 yards with my .17hmr, and then one day at the range shooting some 55 Gr fmjs plink ets in at new AR upper, we ended up looking for things down range to try to shoot to mix things up at but and my buddy finds 2 .38spl casings and...

So, 300 bucks a good deal on Springfield XD?

Buy it. End of story. Worst case buy it and sell it at a profit. Or use it as trading material. That is what I do when things like that appear in front of me like magic.

    Ammo stolen off of porch!

When I have a high dollar package on the way (computer, tv, LNL AP, etc) I leave the man door to my garage open and a note on the front door on delivery day to put it in the garage and lock the door. It has worked well so far.

not liking the 223 lee trimmer

Google the Dead-On trimmers. Like a little crow, but I think the adjustment is better. He doesn't have a website, but I think they are available on amazon from him. I just bought one after years of Lee trimming and hating it. Trimming is now almost effortless and you can adjust to any length...

    Too much lube

That little hole that may or may not be drilled in the threads near the top of the sizing die.

    223 powders.

For target/accuracy I get .55 moa groups with Varget and 69 SMKs. For plinking I still get sub moa with 55 fmjs and TAC powder. These days you sort of have to go with what you can find. Some places will never have any "typical" .223 powders in stock, but be plumb full of 2230.

I want to get a "CLASSIC" 30-06 hunting rifle with a nice wood stock.

I'm gonna vote for the CZ 550 American, in .30-06, as that is what I went with when I was in your same position. Beautiful rifle, great palmswell, great checkering, and quite a shooter with my VX3 on top.

    Help choosing a Rifle

I was in the same boat as you last year. I went with a CZ 550 American in .30-06 and a Leopold VX-3 3.5-10x and never looked back. It is now my antelope, deer and elk gun, depending on the load I use.

You know a good safe when....

I don't think anyone is making anything out of 1.5" steel with the hopes of a customer being able to move it anywhere.

Show us a picture of your reloading bench

No problem, I think I got the idea from this forum many moons ago, so glad to pass it on. If you are worried about rust/corrosion, you can toss a desiccant packet in each one as well. I keep them in all of my die boxes.

I got a bunch of them I don't use anymore, if you wanna make me an offer?!

Show us a picture of your reloading bench

Stigness, I see that you keep your dies in the lee turret plates, I used to do exactly that as well. I found that if you use one of the round red Lee die boxes, you can flip over the bottom and set the turret in it and put the lid back on, and keep the dies relatively dust free. This are the...

How many guys carry at least 1 knife?

Benchmade Mini Barrage as a primary and Benchmade Mini Griptilitan as a backup. I generally care more with me when hunting. Surefire 6P LED for a light. I used to carry Spydercos when I was younger. I loved them. Loved them. But, I always ended up catching the pocket clip on a door striker plate...

    Scope for 10/22

Yes they are. Vortex has an amazing warranty program if you shoild ever need it. Personally I have the Nikon Prostaff rimfire on mine. Has the little BDC holdovers after you zero at 50. Seems to work really good.

    6th station? LnL AP

That looks like it will feed, seat and crimp with that fancy new rifle bullet feeder die. I have the pistol feeder dies, and all they do is set a bullet in the charged case mouth. I have also been using thin wall plastic tubing for years before Hornady came out with their aluminum tubes. Mine...

    AR Scope Mounting Problem

If you are concerned at all with weight, the AeroPrecision is less than half the weight of the PEPR mount. (+/- 3 oz.) I had a PEPR and then ordered an AP for another rifle. I promptly sold the PEPR.
