breakfree clp or rem oil or hoppes oil

I bought 15W50, as there wasn't a straight 40W or higher at the local Walmart at the time. I'd say the thicker the better, as it will stay put better, instead of all running down and/or out of the gun while its sitting in the safe or whatever, which thinner oils really like to do. But, as...

breakfree clp or rem oil or hoppes oil

I have been using Mobil 1 for a few years and have been very happy with the results, and the price for quantity, compared to ANY other dedicated gun oil I have ever tried. Cheap, available all over, stay put pretty well, doesn't evaporate, and not a speck of rust on any gun. For anything...

Suggestions for a nice HD shotgun?

I have the Mossberg 590A1 that comes with great ghost ring sights, 9 round tube (9 for 2 3/4" shells, only 8, or maybe 7 with 3", I honestly forget at the moment), and the SpeedFeed stock holds 4 extra shells in reserve (I keep slugs in it, with 3" 00 buck in the tube, and couldn't be happier...

    Humorous homemade gun posters

Wow. I REALLY cant believe this is still going after 3 years! This may be a personal record for "good idea", as most of my ideas in life tend to not go this well.:) too bad most of mine get removed from my Photo bucket account over time, figuring this thread was LONG dead. Once I get the HD...

How did you get your first firearm?

First one I personally owned was a Ruger Blackhawk .357mag I bought shprtly after my 18th birthday.Prior to that, when I turned 13, and had completed hunter saftey, I was using a Mossberg bolf action .410 my uncle got as a kid and had left with my dad for 20+ years, as he wasnt ever "into" guns...

    Of discretion and licensing

IMHo, No, it doesnt have ANY place at all. At most, set a standard set of requirements in law, and leave it at that. There should be no discretion with individual judges, CLEO's, or Sheriff's, IMHO. Too much room for abuse.

    Sigarms556.com

Agreed,. some forums/sites dont allow gmail, hotmail, yahoo, etc due to excessive spam and/or difficulty in accountability (or so I'm told, I;m not in IT so...). Anyone ever convicted for 922 (r)?

Heres an apellate case of a 922(r) charge. No idea of the outcomes or full details, or the info on the original case. United States Court of Appeals, Seventh Circuit. TRADER VIC'S LTD, an Indiana Corporation[FN1] and Victor L. Reid, Sr. Plaintiffs-Appellants, v. Paul H. O'NEILL, Secretary...

    Guns and Banks

And your county is LYING about the bank , school, and state bulding part. IF you have an OR CPL, you are 100% legal in those places, whether carrying open or concealed, anywhere in the state. Withouth a permit, FEDERAL law prohibits school carry (there is nothing in state law prohibiting it)...

Is the "gun show loophole" real?

^^ Agreed, even more critical than the "gun show loophole" is the dreaded "murder loophole". I have never murdered anyone, thus have never been convicted of murder, so I have found, and exploited, the murder loophole! thats even worse than the gun show loophole! someone please, think of the...

Homeowner Shoots And Kills 19-Year-Old In Self-Defense (Judge?)

to be fair though, many people have been killed with .22lr, and I'm sure some have even been killed with air guns, but certainly woldnt use either for SD/HD unless I had NO other choice. You can also kill some with your bare hands or an ice pick or hammer, but many of us still carry guns...

    looking for a certain milsurp

Enfield No. 4 (Savage if you want something that is a little less common, for a little more money, but otherwise, the same AFAIK). My Savage was I think $279 shipped, the wood is in pretty much mint condition, with a nice "tiger stripe" to it, metal has some wear and patina, but overall...

    Opinions please

VERY nice work. Usually not my "kind of thing" (I'm more a fan of "plain" looking guns for the most part), but I have to say that really does look very good. You definitely have some serious skill/talent. I suspect you'll start getting flooded with PM's from people wanting you to do some similar...

Learning from your mistakes. Your biggest OOPS moments.

managed to inadvertantly double tap (or bumpfire, not sure which would be more accurate) my 1911 shortly aftre I bought it. I squeezed off a shot at my target, and it fired twice real fast. Stunned the heck out of me. Both runds even hit the target ner the center, with the second a few inches...

What would you pick for a "sniper" rifle?

I have PM'd Art Eatman to lock this old thread for me. Inspite of my best of intentions and explanations at the time, the topic just didnt go over like I had thought it would, and I'd rather not see it resurrected a year later now, and cause possible arguments, bashing, quibbling...
