    Durable, reliable rimfire rifle

Marlin Model 60. Mine has been going since the mid 70's without even one malfunction. It's taken BUNCHES of rats at the local dump and quite a few groundhogs, squirrels, and setting rabbits. I highly recommend one.

    Which snub fits these characteristics?

I did in Oklahoma. Used an inside the waist band holster appendix carry. I've moved to Ohio and haven't gotten the CCW yet. Right now it's my home defense weapon. The nice thing about the stainless steel is it's easy maintenance with no finish to rub off. I polish it about once a month with...

    Which snub fits these characteristics?

I guess I'm prejudiced, but I wouldn't trade my SP101 for anything else out there. It's a small frame .357 with 2 1/4 barrel. We use .38 Spl +P with it and should last a lifetime. It's all steel, DA/SA with stainless steel finish. The finish may be a deterrent to you, but it deserves a look...

How do you prefer to carry extra revolver ammo, a speed strip or a speed loader?

If I use our .357 Ruger SP101 Two Speed Loaders. If I use our LCP One extra magazine

    Light weight .357

At least take a look at a Ruger SP101

How many mags per gun is enough?

Agree with you. I have one spare now but gonna get another one along with a two magazine holder.

    Hunting with a .22mag.

There is a .22 mag varmint load out there that has taken quite a few 'yotes for me while I was in Oklahoma. Also 20 # plus ground hogs here in Ohio. Never shot a coon with one. This is using a Marlin bolt action MN25 .22 mag.

    3 gun hearing problem ?

We went shooting last Saturday with our daughter and took the family dog with us. The biggest handgun shot was a .38 Special +P. After we got back home, we found the 7 year dog was completely deaf. Couldn't hear a thing. It's now Wednesday and he seems to have gotten at least most of his hearing...

Barrel length for .223 bolt action?

Agree with HOOfan. It's according on what you want the rifle do. Target and still hunting (coyote, prairie dog): Bull Barrel. Other: regular barrel.

    Ruger MkIII

IMHO, Mk III is the best bang for the buck. All of my handguns are now Ruger.

would you sell a gun to buy a gun?

I used to sell, trade, and buy all the time but not anymore. I kept the pick of the litters which turns out to be Ruger handguns and Marlin rifles. They all seem to just work and are accurate. This is my personal choices, but it's like trying to compare Ford and Chevy.

    I bought a 22 semiauto.

Seems overpriced for a Mk I. I bought a Mk III about three years ago for $330 NIB. This was also the Sports South Stainless Steel Distributor's Exclusive. Of course, handguns seem to have risen in price lately. Anyhow, the Ruger .22s are about the most accurate out there and will last a...

Material to put in walls to reduce penetration

Boy, that .223 round going at around 3200 fps is gonna be hard to stop. There is a bullet called "frangible" which means it disintegrates when it hits something may be part of the answer. I had a .223 in the past but settled on a 12 ga pump and used: 1st shell #6 or 7 1/2 shot 2nd...
