Sen. Kotowski's Fib Highlights Gun Control Movement's Credibility Gap

A couple years ago a mentally challenged person stole a shotgun from a gun shop and used it to kill an unarmed security guard. After that incident, they formed the Capital Police (security guards with guns) to provide security.

I work at an airport and I agree. If I were to do what this person did, I'd be unemployeed so fast my head would spin.

    Chicago Pro-CCW editorial!

The only way people in Illinois will be abel to CCW is if a national bill was passed that allowed for a state permit to be valid in all 50 states. The only way Illinois would pass a CCW law is if Chicago was swallowed by a black hole.:banghead:

How open are you at work?

Everybody knows I hunt due to the fact that part of my job requires me to "hunt" during work to alleviate wildlife hazards on the airport. Most people also know that I am a gun collector just from casual conversation regarding hobbies and such. Heck, thats how I ended up with a free shotgun...

    Welcome Back, Mr. Nightcrawler

    870 Capacity - why only 6+1?

I think the 7+1 capacity is due to 20 inch barrels not 18.5. I have a 11-87 with 21 inch barrel that has a 7+1 extension on it that is 1 inch shorter than the barrel and a Ithaca police deerslayer with 20 inch barrel that has a 7+1 capacity. The 870 we have here at work only has an 18 inch...

Can't Believe what people pay at Auctions for guns

Ah, but good deals can be found at auctions too. I recently picked up a S&W Model 29 for $325. I didn't need the gun, but at that price it was worth it.

Info on N Carolina gun laws

Thanks for the information. The whole handgun thing just gives me a reason to buy a couple here before I leave, kind of a going away present to myself. What is the requirement for CCW? Do I have to wait 6 months or can I apply as soon as I establish residency? Since Illinois does not allow...

    Available hunting in North Carolina

Thanks for the information. I'll be honest, deer hunting is not a major concern for me since I will continue to come back to Illinois to deer hunt each fall. Friends and family on close to 700 acres is just to much fun to quit and go somewhere else. What I am really interested in is the bear...

Info on N Carolina gun laws

I'm looking at a job in North Carolina (Raliegh-Durham area) and was wondering about their gun laws. Since I currentlly live in Illinois, just about any other state will be a step up, but I was wondering if NC had any off the wall stuff like a permit to purchase requirement or magazine ban...

    Available hunting in North Carolina

I'm looking at a job in North Carolina and I was just wondering what the hunting was like. I know they have deer, black bear and boar but I don't know if they are available state wide. I'd be in the Raliegh-Durham area if that makes a difference. I also like to varmit hunt so info on coyote...
