I made my own from two layers of spandex filled with play sand. Nothing I’ve ever found has been quite as good at that for shooting off the ground on bipod.
But it got dust and sand everywhere and was heavy. I switched to a str8 laced bag with poly fill which is super light and 90% as good...
What scopes should be. Solid, turrets with good detents and zero stop, capped windage lol clear glass and a well thought out reticle. Double your spend from there gets you maybe 5% improvement?
Only downside is the entire ocular rotates with mag change. Makes using butler creek style covers...
so, amusing story. i just lased a cow at 2908 and 2910 yds. in the reticle the cow was right at a mil long and laying slightly at an angle. i thought, hmm... that cow must be about 9 feet long then, and that seemed really long to me. idk why i always thought cows were about 6' long. i'm...
You’re correct; gotbooster is not. Lower ar15 receivers only have one thread pattern and both com and mil work with it.
As to your question, it’s up to you. I like mil spec. It’s worth $20 to me. But most civilian ARs prob use commercial. There are tens of millions of them out there and I...
This may sound crazy but for bench use, go to fabric store. Buy a yard of spandex. Sew it into a bag two layers thick and fill with play sand (the heavy stuff). Softball sized.
Varget is out there just stupid expensive. I think it’s in stock at powder valley and Hodgdon if you want to pay over $50/lb.
It’s not the only powder that works great of course. It’s just the easy button for a lot of high power shooters
Pretty much every AR will leave an indention in the primer when you release the bolt. It’s just from the fact it has a free floating firing pin. But I’m with you on extreme care indoors. I don’t chamber the same round twice indoors for example.
To the op I’d say varget and sierra 69g smk...
I always wondered why left hand windage wasn’t more popular.
Back when US Optics made custom scopes I ordered one with windage on the left since I’m left handed. But what I really wanted was parallax on the right. I ordered the capped windage turret and never touch it as I always hold wind...
Fine tuning zero at distance, shot a paint can I forgot I left on the target.

408 is the range to the ground at base of the 6” circle in front of the IPSC. Neither would range the circle itself since the white cardboard...
You need to define worn out wrt barrels.
1 moa accuracy? Yeah, it’s going to be toast long before 10k rounds. Probably 3k for stainless. But it’s going to be a long time before it starts keyholing.
Firing schedule also affects it. Filthy 14 referenced above had all its rounds fired in...
First impressions, not a super detailed review as I’ve only had it 3 days or so. It’s awesome. Great step up over the silencerco radius I’ve been using.
It’s very well thought out. It has a lot of great features like internal weather sensors and compass. I’m already comfortable recommending...
The opposite bothers me more. People say “that gun will outshoot me” a lot more I think. People on gun forums tend to be a lot more sensitive about their purchases than their own skills. They would rather people think they’re a bad shot than that they made a bad purchase.
