    Best of the 9mm micros

I’ve shot most of those and owned a few, and while I’m not a huge fan of the modern U.S.-based SIG Sauer, the P365 is the best of them. The M&P Sheild/Shield Plus would be my second choice. Everything else trails behind those two.

    Full Size Carry ?

Most of the world considers the Glock 17 or SIG P226 full-size guns, and they have barrels ~4.5 inches long.

    POF Tombstone in the wild

Eeesh. That looks terrible. The reviews I’ve seen of this thing are not glowing. Not sure what this gets you over something like a CZ Scorpion that costs half as much and is a well-proven firearm.

    Gun counter advice

My thoughts exactly. I’ve overheard plenty of bad advice at gun counters, but that advice wasn’t among it. I would absolutely purchase or build a PSA AR-15 versus a $700 Black Rain AR-15. Black Rain is pretty bottom-of-the-barrel (aside from some polymer/imported ATI junk), and $700 will get...

    H&K Micro 9 coming...sometime.

Prices (compared to other brands) and parts availability have improved dramatically for HK in recent years. As prices on Glocks and other similar pistols have crept up in recent years, most HK models sell new for about the same price (or less) than they did 10 years ago. There is a good...

Ruger American 9mm compact. Any throughts?

I think you answered your own question. In many ways, the RAP (especially in terms of size/ergonomics) was a step backwards from the SR9/SR9c (aside from the SR9’s doofy “safety” features), and the market recognized this. The price the OP mentions above is very close the the price that one...

The Best Selling 9mm in America

Currently the SIG P365, at least on Gunbroker (February 2023 sales): https://www.gungenius.com/top-selling/ Obviously that is just one venue for (predominantly civilian commercial) sales.

Why does safety location on Beretta 92 make a difference?

Interesting to see this discussion today. I’m actually planning to install the G decocker-only parts into my 92X RDO this afternoon. Personally, the location of the safety/decocker lever on the 92 series never bothered me that much (though I never cared for the up-to-fire design). And the...

    AR-15 Suppressor

“Needed” and and “Useful” are two entirely different statements. In fact, an adjustable gas block is completely unnecessary on many (if not most) AR-15 setups. 5.56x45mm produces far less gas than something like 7.62x51mm, where an adjustable block is actually useful. I can vouch from...

    Not true. Checks out.

the CZ 75 in the hand, or the SA-35 in the bush?

I own a few CZ75s and variants, and a few FN Hi-Powers. The CZ75 is an objectively better pistol.

    P320 strikers again!

Maybe this is legit. Maybe it’s another YouTuber looking for clicks.

    My Slightly Modified CZ P-09

As the owner of a Suppressor-Ready P-07, I have to respectfully disagree regarding these stock suppressor-height night sights. Frankly, they are excellent sights for a defensive pistol like this, suppressed or not. Very visible in all lighting conditions and more durable than adjustable sights...

    Tisas or RIA?

At least immediately pre-pandemic, these could be found used for very good prices. Discussed in another thread, but I was able to pick one up in very good condition (with 3 12-round mags) for $450.

    Marlins 39A

Can’t add much to the conversation other than to say I love my 1960-manufactured 24” 39A; it’s a joy to shoot. Before I got into the suppressor game, it was my quiet rifle of choice. When paired with CCI CB 22 Longs, it’s basically as silent as a non-suppressed firearm can be.

    Tisas or RIA?

Neither. For a home defense .45ACP in that price range, I’d be looking for a used HK USP45 with 10 round magazines, if that what you are limited to. Add in a GG&G Picatinny rail adapter, and you you are still in for about the same money as the Tisas or RIA, and a have a markedly superior...

    Accurate but not-too-expensive .45

I purchased an HK USP45 (2002 production date) with 3 12-round mags (all marked For Law Enforcement Use Only) just prior to the pandemic for $450. Since then, I picked up a few additional mags and the excellent GG&G Picatinny rail adapter (to attach a Surefire X300). I’ve also replaced the...

    What's the most accurate 9mm?

Of the 9mm pistols I own, my CZ Shadow 2 is definitely the most mechanically accurate. That said, my Walther PDP full-size with an RMR is easiest to shoot accurately.

Looking to try a different bolt action 22:

I compared the CZ 457 to the Tikka and the Bergara (no experience with the Christiansen Arms offering). Also looked at the Ruger Precision Rimfire, which is not really in the same league. All three (CZ, Tikka, Bergara) are nice rifles, but I ended up with a CZ 457 Precision Varmint Chassis...

    Are All Current Rugers Garbage?

I own a Ruger Mark II, III, and IV. I would say the quality and construction of all three is essentially equal. It really comes down to features that will define which generation you enjoy most. The Mark II was a great pistol that was made for many years. The Mark III, as much as it is...
