I tried to shoot my Glenfield today with a 22 short CB. I just can't get them to group. The LR Subsonic does OK but I am not sure of the velocity on these. They were not good enough for the match.
Very nice Vonderek. I found some knives recently and then found AAPK web site and really got into it. I have started buying old knives and working on them. I even bought this brand new Case minitrapper recently. Very addictive hobby.
I hope to shoot tomorrow but you guys know I am no threat. I will shoot two different rifles and try to shoot two classes. Pistol class may be fun too.
Buck Protege without the serrated section on the blade. I know you didn't want a folder or synthetic handle but price just about dictates it. if you want to go closer to the 200 bucks I would go with the Vanguard by Buck with the gut hook. they may offer it in stag or bone handle but it would be...
You probably need to get it checked out by a smith. I don't know what you are shooting in the pistol but quality ammo would be suggested until the problem is solved after the smith checks it for tolerances and damage.
Humbling
Glenfield Model 25. Remington LR Target Ammo. Banner 1.5 to 4.5 . Bench and sandbags. 50 yds. I will try to score the thing. I had 2 bullets that did not make the target. I have lots of excuses but mainly I think "I'm just a poor shot".
I shot a lot of 22 Short CB loads before I...
I dug these out because I wanted to find out if some were old. The upper left is a Colonial. The small one in the center is a Belknap. I think it could be old. It has a star and 4927 on the back of the blade. The yellow Case on the lower right has Case's Stainless on both blades and STAINLESS on...
I have not been in the park in 15 years. There were many bears and hogs then. It must be more likely to see them now. We traveled on horse back one time I was there and that was a great trip. Enjoy!
I never carried unless hunting and fishing and that was always a single action 44 mag or 357. Now that I carry concealed I carry a small 1911 45acp. It does not run perfect and I am working on it but the first shot goes where I point it. I trust both revolver and auto the same.
44 mag is the most powerful pistol caliber I own. If I was comfortable with a more powerful caliber and I had access to it I would use it. I still do not know if that would make me comfortable in big bear county. I have never been there. Nervous black bear Mom's make me nervous enough. I have...
Here is mine. I think it's cool. Got some 35 gr XTP's and some 50 gr round ball for it yesterday. I think I will carry it today. It will be in my pocket. My 1911 will be on my side.
Mostly have used 165 gr Hornady Interlock over 44 grains of Varget in the 06. This is a very mild load but has served me well. I think I need to punch 'em up a little in my old age though.
I have tried Universal, Accurate #5, Green Dot and Blue Dot in both. I shoot mostly cast in both. All performed OK. Green Dot is a real kick for the 44 mag and cast bullets. I think it is a little high on pressure, even at low velocities but you get a little smoke and a sharp pop, that I like...
Sure is sounding like a primer issue to me. With the recent primer shortage it is not surprising that quality issues may rear there ugly head for some time to come. I do recall a couple recalls.
